I am a schoolteacher and a mother of four girls. I have been doing genealogy for about 20 years. |
Visiting cemeteries is a favorite pastime and my daughters are getting into stone rubbings and photography also. I would like to exchange photos of headstones with people who are willing to visit the cemeteries that are located in the towns where my relatives live and I am willing to do the same. I am in Bethany, Oklahoma and will do lookups and photos any cemetery within the Oklahoma County area. If you are not sure if the cemetery is in my area please email me anyway and I will find out where it is located.
Photo Use Permission
Feel free to use my photos in your personal research since after all, that's one reason I take the photos. I have received a lot of requests recently to post these photos on Ancestry - please consider this as permission to do so, but PLEASE give a photo credit to "Shelly K Cherry (#12116408) - Find A Grave" as I have spent so much time and effort to take and post all these photos.

|Memory Ghost||Sutherland descendant|
sorry about the double msgs. my computer glitched
|Memory Ghost||RE: Sutherland descendant|
omg, so nice to meet you, got chills while reading your message, hope we have a common ancestor. mine runs
Ronald wayne sutherland [living],
George alvin Sutherland 1927-2000
Edward/Edwin Roscoe sutherland 1898-1973, Edward/Edwin Ricket Sutherland 1876-1966.
These I have proof for, but from there, I have names only of :
1.John Cain Sutherland
2. John James Sutherland
3. John S. Sutherland
4. Joseph Sutherland
5, William Sutherland
However these 5 I am not to sure of because I can find no linking information, I only know that the Sutherland surname comes from Scotland. My son is excited about that fact so he wants to know the colors of the Sutherland plaid, so the project turned into much work, because there r so many. Any help would be appreciated,
Thanks, K. Morgan

Mrs. Cherry, I was wondiring if you are a sutherland relation, as I am. I am looking for information on them,and was wondering if maybe you might know more on them.All my Sutherland relatives here are passed except my dad and he knows nothing except his Father's name. but you have pages for the sutherlands I can only find names on. also I am compiling all the material on the Sutherland family, not for a book to publish, but 1 for my children. you have given permission for usage of your material at other sites,as long as credit is given, and boy do I understand the reason, can I please use the information in my family book, with your permission,when I finish the pages I will even e-mail you a copy, showing credit given. thanks for the work you have done.

Hello Shelly, I am a descendant of the Ohio Hartman's too. Your 2x great grand Cora is my grandmothers half sister. Which makes us half 2nd cousins 2x removed. I would like to ask permission to use the photos you have posted for the Smith family and their descendants. My email is email@example.com I would enjoy talking more, if your interested or are in need of "Ohio" info. Looking forward....Laura W #48375521

The books for the Strong family can be downloaded and/or viewed online for free. The book is called "The History of the Descendants of Elder John Strong of Northampton, Mass." and it has a few volumes. It's a good starting point although it's a bit of a pain in the neck figuring out the system. You can find them at
It's a great site and many of the old genealogy books you might find at the library can be found here.
Obviously, they won't be complete but that's where the internet can help fill in the blanks.

I looked at the suggestion for the Josiah Strong memorial I made and concluded that the memorial you cited (21794273) is not the same person and it is very incorrect.
That Josiah was born 17 Aug 1705 in Northampton MA to Samuel Strong and Ruth Sheldon and he died 03 Feb 1761 in Sharon CT. He was not married to Hannah Fuller but to Elizabeth Fowler and Hannah Smedley.
A correct (and later) memorial for that Josiah is 92883438. Technically, Jan Franco's memorial is older but it really should be deleted! I'll send her a note.

Thanks for the new information. I appreciate it. Please delete my last two messages. I don't know what happened. A senior moment I guess.
