Private, Company F, 24th Virginia Cavalry, Gary's Brigade, Fitz. Lee's Division, Cavalry, Army of Northern Virginia, C.S.A.
He enlisted July 26, 1863 at Camp Elzey, Virginia, for 3 years' service; he was mustered into Company F, 42nd Battalion Virginia Cavalry as a Private. he was present on all Rolls until Nov 14, 1864, when he was given a "Certificate of Disability" with a 30-day medical Furlough due to chronic diarrhea. No further record.
The 24th Cavalry Regiment was organized in June, 1864, by consolidating eight companies of the 42nd Virginia Cavalry and two companies of Dearing's Confederate Cavalry.
