My SHIELDS family descends from Daniel Shields and wife, Mary, who immigrated ca 1790 from Ireland. They settled in Hamilton Co., OH, then Butler Co., OH, and Preble Co., OH. Many of the family then spread into Darke Co., OH and beyond. It is not known where Mary died, but Daniel died in Preble County, Ohio.

My LEHMANN (aka Lehman & Layman & Laman) family began in Schirrhein, Alsace, France and from there they went to Canton, Stark Co., OH and onto Shelby County, Ohio.

My MILLS Family came from New Jersey to Hamilton Co. and settled for a time in Warren Co., OH before removing to Shelby Co., OH.

My CREAGER (aka Krieger) Family came from Kleingartach, Neckarkreis, Wuerttemberg, Germany in 1730. They settled for a time in Oley Mtns. (aka Oley Hills), Philadelphia County (now Berks Co.), Pennsylvania. From there they removed to Frederick, Frederick County, Maryland where the immigrant ancestor died. Many descendants remained in Maryland, while others ventured into Ohio and beyond.
