In the Breckenridge Cemetery, there is a Susan Goodnough and Rollo Goodnough. The dates on Rollo's monument are not readable so I'm not sure it is the same person you are looking for. Can you confirm? Jamye

I love all the wonderful pictures you've posted of the cemetery. I noticed that you created a memorial for Ophelia Emelite Broussard. I know the dates don't match but I'm positive she is the same person as Mrs J. A. Lemaire Broussard. I just checked the 1900 census and she (Ophelia) and her husband (listed as John A Braussard) were the parents of 11 children, and living with 10 of them at Moutons Cove, Vermillion parish, Louisiana. I don't mind deleting my memorial if you'd like to add the newspaper article from mine to yours with a note that her death date is inscribed incorrectly.

Thanks so much for the picture of Ruth Burleigh's tomb. Her grandmother, Sarah Jackson, should have also been buried in the same cemetery (McGowen) but she is not listed in the register. Did you happen to see a Sarah Jackson buried in Ruth Jackson's tomb?

Thanks for this memorial, I think I overlooked setting one up for her, thanks for putting one up for their son Charles as well.
I appreciate the work you do for this site !!

I wished I could help, but I saw those graves in 1999, I can't remember the directions. But I can tell you they are on private property, and you need to ask permission from the owner to go see them. He has a home in the front, and you will have to walk maybe a half of a mile in a path well mowed, cross a little tiny creek, where there are some stones to walk on. The owner's father is buried at the end of the path, in a very nice mowed section with a bench. The graves are to your left, he will say that there are four graves, but two headstones and two foot stones. The black flies and ticks were bad in the summer. I looked on line at the William and Mary Quarterly, they say "near the crossing of Thompson & Louis roads." I hope this helps. I know someone who has GPS for the graves, I will sent them to you later...

|Joseph Mann||RE: Charles J. Leeds|
AFter you filed yoru request I checked with the cemetery. All Leeds are interred in Cypress Grove, and there are no Leeds in Greenwood. The location you provided was 8888, which means they cannot locate the specific burial site for that individual.
I recognized the name Leeds immediately because I have been in Cypress Grove many times. My in-laws are buried there. The Leeds tombs is very well known and is one of the more ornate (or used to be) and unique tombs in the cemetery. Some people have removed some of the metal from the tomb and sold it as scrap several years ago.
Somebody else has posted photos of all the Leeds previously, but I added my photos because I think they are clearer.
Charles Leeds apparently was a former mayor of New Orleans.
The people interred at that site are:

Ruth Leeds 69 11/01/1942
