Could you please correct the date of death in this entry? The ttombstone in the photograph shows that it should be February 13, 1933, rather than January 13, 1909. Here is the link:http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=76543180

Thank you for all the transfers - it wasn't necessary but after checking your message board I understand. Thanks for your service to our country and all the work you've done for find-a-grave. I will take good care of the memorials you've transferred to my care. Happy Holidays to you and yours. Pat

I would be more than happy to accept the transfer of any and/or all of the following memorials:
Holly Mount Baptist Church Cemetery in Mount Gilead, North Carolina
and any other memorials (particularly Montgomery, Moore and/or Stanly Counties) you would care to transfer to me.
You have been a tremendous help to me and I respect your professionalism on Find A Grave.
I do have a couple of situations I would like to discuss with you via email rather than this public message. Please let me know if you would contact me via my email so I may address these situations with you.
Look forward to hearing from you.

I was recently contacted by a woman who was incensed that I had put a repaired photo on one of her memorials. She was very persnickety. I finally told her I didn't want to keep talking to her because everything I said to her she responded by quoting me FindAGrave rules.
I'm not noticing any missing things from my memorials (yet). If I do, I may go off myself. I do not hold with removing things without forewarning & explanation. I have been putting obits & newspaper articles & death certificates & sometimes WWI draft cards (if that's all I have), to me they're relevant to a memorial.
I'll keep an eye out for any unwarranted changes. Thanks for telling me. I'm sorry to hear you're leaving, perhaps you should contact FindAGrave first & find out why they did this. It may be a hacker, not them.

Thank you so much for all the Itawamba transfers. Please do not leave and stop your work. You have helped so many people. God Bless You.

No, it's not a copyright issue (the section 107 copyright disclaimer does not apply, anyway. Please do not post that as your bio), it's a Find a Grave policy/rules issue. Only photos of the person's grave headstone and grave site, plus a portrait photo of the person if available (personal photos that you own only), should be posted in the photo section.

I appreciate the transfers of Gosnell memorials. I'm sorry to hear you're "frustrated" with FindAGrave. Why the change? I was recently told by Richard that he was told that Ancestry.com had bought out FindAGrave, which surprises me from reading FindAGrave's creator's statement of intent, he said it was to remain a free site staffed by volunteers. Do you know if this is true? I had noticed that a few months or so ago, when I did searches on Ancestry, 2 listings for FindAGrave started turning up instead of one, they usually looked identical. I wondered why. This might explain why.

My take is that it is all right to post them. I think the issue is scanned obits. While I'm not a big fan of them, I know that alot of people are unable to go out and take photos. This is their way of adding to the site. I would much rather they were typed and added to the bio. But as long as I still have a spot to add photos, I really don't care that they are on the memorials that I have created.
Don't let this get you down and don't stop what you are doing. Just find a way to work within the guidelines. Besides being something you enjoy, you have put alot of time and energy into this. You have helped alot of people along the way. I for one, appreciate all your hard work and hope you will continue.
