"Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body.
But rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, Diet Pepsi in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming
'WOO HOO what a ride!' "

I am sorry I can not add this obituary, as I did not post it on Find A grave. You will need to send the obituary to Ellen Johnson so she can add it.

Yeah he was married to my great grand aunt so my dad & I have a lot of info on them, If you would like to transfer them I would gladly accept them. Thank you so much!!
|Karen Measel||RE: Thomas Garis & Anna R. Freed son John E. Garis (1870) you have him buried at Port Carbon, PA|
Thanks for the information, it looks like when his parents died here in Port Carbon they had a tombstone for John and he was not buried there but with is wife . I deleted the tombstone in Port Carbon and edited his birthdate and place with his father where he is currently buried.

You are always more than welcome to use anything that I post in any way that you want. Our tiny library in Colman has many years (between 1904 and 1952) of the Colman Argus newspaper, which stopped publication in the early 80s. I've been adding the obituaries from those issues to Find A Grave, since they aren't available otherwise except in microfilm from the state library. I'm glad that you have found them useful! Best regards from South Dakota.

I used the obituary which is included in Henry's record as the source. I'll let you make the call; I know that obituaries sometimes have errors as well, but I thought that it was worth making the suggestion.

PS- We are in a hot spell. Wish I was there! I have a classmate in Haines, Alaska.
Feel free to use any of my photos and thanks for asking for permission. I took the photos over five years ago so I don't remember the cemetery too well but there were several stones that were unreadable. Sorry! Barb
