Bio and Links
Bio Photo I became involved in genealogy when my oldest child needed one last Boy Scout Badge and Family History seemed easy. I called my aunt who was the keeper of my dad's family "flame" to get some information. My son got his badge and I got hooked, (now I'm the keeper of that "flame") That was about 35 years ago. I am a widow now with 4 children and 11 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. The photo was taken when I was 18, so don't let it throw you. I hope my children will someday be interested. I believe it is important to keep a record of where our ancestors are buried ( but please ask permission to use my photo's) and this is just the place. Thanks. (I have recently had a Stroke, so please forgive my slowness.) Robin

Than you so much for your permission to download her picture to my personal photos. I am not a member of Ancestry.com, so please be assured that her photo will go no further than here.
P.S. I also have found that YOU AND I are related.

RE: Hoffines(s)
William, Lorinda, Marietta Hunter are on the back of George and Maria's headstone.

I added the picture to all 5 of them.

It is my understanding that all three are the children of George and Maria.

"He(George) had 4 children with Maria which were Lorinda, Loretta, William and John. He had 2 children with Harriett which were Lizzie and Homer."

As for Marietta Hunter I have this: "Marietta Hoffhine Hunter was the daughter of George and Maria Ayers Hoffhine. She was the wife of George Hunter. She also has the name of Loretta as well."

No I am not related.

I have photographed all of Hixon cemetery and am in the progress of add the photos and edits to the cemetery.

Hope that helps.

Halliday's of Scotland
Hello Robin,

My name is Jack Halliday. I recently began researching my family tree, and I believe that Jane Halliday is my 4th great grandmother. I have reached a point where I have become stuck, I cannot seem to find out more about her. I believe her husbands name is Alexander Halliday. I was wondering if yopu had any information on Jane Halliday that may help to learn more of my family.

Thank you so much, Jack B. Halliday

I also have David Shepherd, brother to Enoch m. Margaret Clapp. She is dau. of Ezra Clapp and Margaret Ingersoll.

I descend from Mary Ann (Oliver) Weems,Faver. I am from Weems marriage, through Nancy Jane Weems m. William Augusta Abbott.

This same Shepherd line also goes through my Layne line at Rebecca Teague.

My husband is a descendant of Col. Thomas Shepherd, founder of Shepherdstown. This is the same group of Van Meter, Clapp, Shepherd, Willis (and includes Mehitable Warner m. Preserved Clapp, father of Ezra.)and they are all link to land agents: Daniel Morgan, Jan Joist Hite, McPherson, and Lord Fairfax lands and family.
My Willis is Col. Henry Willis, and alsoworking on Daniel Hubbard Willis, uncle to Joseph P. Willis, "Apostle of The Opelousas, son of Aegerton Willis. Trying to prove Joseph as grandfather of my Caroline Pickett Willis m. Benjamin F. Abbot(nothing on him). Ben is the father of William Augusta Abbott m. Nancy Jane Weems, above.

Brig. Gen. John Willis was commander of the Rev. War, founder of Lumberton.
ThMcCormick/Edmund Terrill line who lived on parcelled land from Joist Hite.ese families tie to Pres. James Madison via Calloway to Daniel Boone, and Van Meter, Hite, McPherson (Brig. Gen. Kennedy reported to BG Willis, as did BG. (Gov) John Sevier. Sevier to Hite and then to Shepherd line of IA.

I have some of the Wing family, as well.

My parents both, descend from one of these: Augustine Warner, and sister, Mildred Warner. Then to Lawrence Washington, and also Dr. John McCormick and Edmund Terrill (m. Margaret Willis.)

I also descend from Capt. Simon Miller, his dau., Sarah m. Adam "Ad" Lawrence of TX. Miller and Lawrence tie back to George R. Reade, Esq, thus the Willis/Warner, Samuel Lewis line again. A lot of Native-American groups come in, as well.

I have a lot of notes if it will help you.

RE: Transfer request
Hi Robin. Sorry I just had shoulder surgery last week and I haven't really wanted to get on the computer. I am going to be in Londonderry next Thursday and will be back home on Tuesday. I will have several pictures to add to the memorials. I do not mind at all if you copy the pictures. I will send you a note as soon as I get them uploaded.
Have a good holiday
Randell
p.s.
Thank you for transferring me Mina Ballard. This is my Grandmother. She is in the same cemetery as my father, just a few plots away.

Grave transfers
Thank you very much. I just got my friend to join and was going to transfer them to him, and help him get the rest of his family on here.

I have been inactive for a couple of years due to similar reasons, and had no idea about the server transfer or about the site being sold.

Thank you for being so kind to transfer these memorials. It will mean lot to him.

Thanks again,
Larry
