I came to this site for the purpose of conducting family research and organizing this research into a grand memorial to honor my family. It was intended to be something that succeeding generations can come to learn about their ancestral past. It is my gift to my family. |
I have extended the focus of the memorials I create to include friends, family, and people with whom I am somehow connected. Along the way I will create memorials for others and upload photos to memorials as well, especially for veterans and those trying to do their own family research. Hopefully I may be of some help to someone. If I create such a memorial and you, as a family member, make a request for a transfer I will gladly transfer the memorial to your care no questions asked. I hate those anal jerks who refuse to transfer out of guidelines. After all, it's your family. You should be the one to determine how that person is memorialized and remembered. I will not transfer a memorial for any of my family members however. I will likewise not permit anyone other than other family members to use any of my family photos or download same. If I download a photo for you to one of your memorials feel free to use your photo any way you wish.
I live a few blocks from Holy Name Cemetery in Jersey City. I enjoy fulfilling photo requests for this cemetery, and often scan Find A Grave for memorials for persons buried in HNC that don't have grave marker photos. If you have a special photo request for this cemetery just let me know.

Thank you so much for your time & effort in locating the grave site. What a shame the marker is gone. Too bad there wasn't find-a-grave years ago.
Thanks again, Leigh
Hi, feel free to post photos closeup of stone on one of the memorials if it might show some inscription clearer. Looks either very worn or very bleary. ? thought you might have written down what the stone said or put it in the caption. If you ever revisit, would you let me know perhaps? much appreciate what you do!

Hi again Ron, you just posted what looks like the very same Villemur stone that is on Aristide Pierre Villemur's memorial Unfortunately I am unable to read most all that is on the stone. Were you able to decipher it at all? I ask because I can't see name for their daughter Rebecca. Are there more family members listed on the stone perhaps that I am unable to see? Same for Mary Villemur..same stone..can you read anything? thanks!
There are a couple other Villemur family members at this cemetery, I'll submit photo requests. THanks for offer.
Hello Ron, thank you so much for finding and photographing the Villemur stones in Holy Name Cemetery. Much appreciated!

Ron: I was just reading your family memorials and noticed that your father and Rose lived on Michigan Avenue in Port Monmouth. My parents owned their home on York Avenue -- one street over. Small world!!!

Ron--thanks for this photo. Sorry there is no marker, but the grass looks fantastic. Thanks for putting the blue pen there -- gives some perspective.
