|Not too much to tell - I'm an amateur genealogy researcher and don't care to help out others with their research if I can. I'm retired and have some time available to do this. I believe that all burial grounds are sacred, and that each and every grave means something to someone.|
I work mostly the western section of Washington County, TN.
My F-A-G work is somewhat limited. It goes in spurts. I enjoy trying to help folks out. It seems hard to get errors fixed, however. I continue to work locally and, if asked, I try to assist researchers. I work more on graveyard documentation, restoration, and preservation. I appreciate those of you who sent thank you messages, I truly do - you account for about 10 percent of the requests that I process. To the others, please think about your volunteers - they research the locations of the markers, often hike to family cemeteries thru brush and briars, we spend hours and dollars fulfilling requests - It is work and we take it seriously.

Gordon, Thank you for taking this picture and offering it on FindAGrave. I am 3,000 miles from East Tennessee and could have never taken it myself. The best to you.

My Greenlee line is from VA to NC to TN to MO. Anyone could be related.
Thanks for the transfers and help.
Most of my resent entries are from TN Death Certs. I know DC's do contain errors, but its a start.
Moving someone is no problem.

Feel free to transfer any Greenlee's. I'm currently going down the TN Death Cert List of Greenlee's and trying to link as many as I can.

Wow, you really covered the ground today. Your work confirmed the burials for nine soldiers. Impressive and inportant. Thanks again

Thanks for those photos of the stones for the three CW soldiers in Gray Community cemetery. Your help with the "proof of burial" photos for the CW soldiers has made a huge difference.

I was so thrilled to find the info you posted on my GGgrandfather, Jesse C Hurt. (some of his children spelled it with the "d", some didn't. My line didn't). I wonder where you were able to document his wife's name as Johnston. I found a marriage license for them in Burke County with Johnston, but on their youngest daughter's death certificate in California (Mary, known as Mollie), her mother's maiden name is listed as Oday or O'Day. So I am looking for additional documentation on the Johnston surname. Also, I have no clue as to who her father was. So any additional info you might have would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks for the help. I wonder how you got those records. I ordered what was supposed to be all of his military records about 20 years ago, and didn't get that one for the marker with the death date.

Looks like you caught a break in the weather. Thanks for all the photos of these photos of our Civil War soldiers
|Gay Hobt Morton||CSA soldier|
Thank you Gordon for the help with the CSA soldiers. There will probably be several more over the next couple of weeks.
