Hello Reader. I am first and foremost a follower of the Jesus of the Bible: the Messiah, the Christ, the Creator, the "only begotten Son" - I love Him because He first loved me and it was by His death for me on the cross that I have hope past the grave! |
I'm a fairly new widow with four grown kids and three perfect kid-in-laws, and the seven most adorable, brilliant, charming and sweet grandchildren ever born - and I'm not even prejudiced! :) When I'm not playing with them, I like to study the Bible, quilt, read great books, hike, backpack, travel, garden, and play board games. I am also a long-time "spits & furts" genealogist. And I enjoy volunteering for FindAGrave.
Thanks to my sister RhondaJo, who not only laid the foundations of my genealogy research, but who has encouraged me to do F.A.G. Oddly, I began to participate only a few months before my strong healthy husband of over 35 years collapsed and died without warning or illness. As a new widow, I am enjoying FindAGrave as something I can do on sleepless nights, "paying it forward" to future generations and strangers. I find cemeteries places of serenity and sobriety, but also of hope. My primary function in FAG is taking photos of local markers, and when I fulfill a request I take pix of as many extra stones as I have the back and time for. Usually there is a memorial already up, but on occasion I need to create a memorial, so if you see that I am managing your family or friend, please ask. It's my hope and goal that every site I put up will go to a family member or friend. I welcome edits, additions, and corrections to my memorials. You may use my photos.
Through the loss of my own husband and parents, I've realized that these memorials are the only lasting memorial place many people will ever have, and the only sight of the marker many will ever see. So I hope I and other photographers take time to clean up the grave site: whisk away leaves, wipe off bird poop, trim the grass from the edges, take a photo of the back of upright stones, and close-ups of details. Make note of the inscriptions, especially the small, fading ones. Then please, send a note via the edit button to the manager of the site with any new info gleaned from the marker. Thank you!
I am also willing to share what info I have on my family lines if I can help anyone. The lines I am especially interested in include:
Anderson/Peterson, Ashlin, Blackketter, Brady, Broome, Causey, Clary, Combs, Cowart, Freeman, Gentry, Groseclose, Humphries, Joiner, Kegans, McVey, Pate, Ring, Sorbello, Spangler, Ward, & Wells.
If you would like to contact me off the public wall, I can be emailed at ksorbello at hotmail dot com.

|Patricia Cooper||Family Links Request|
Hello, would it be possible for you to link Helen Rose West to Her parents? She is my husband's first spouse. They were married for nine years. If you would like I ca send you a link for her tree in Ancestry.com. Her first husband and her last husband are both still living. Her second husband has passed on. I will be completing my links to her sisters Margaret (2005) and Catherine (2014) and they should link to her as I link them to her parents.
Sincerely, Patricia Cooper (#47611708)

Thank you for finding Robert's marker, Since it's his hometown marker I added a link to it. I found some info on where his dad was buried and made his memorial but it turned out he wasn't buried there. I'm still searching on where he's at.

HaHa yeah, I don't get up that way much anymore. Thanks again!
|Grave Finder||Thank you|
Thanks for the photo of my Uncles headstone Kim !!!!
|Nancy Olson||RE: Axel Johnson|
Thanks for the photo for my great grand uncle Axel Johnson's memorial. I find myself wanting to type "Alex" instead of "Axel" since my son's name is Alex. I should have thought of that when I searched for him on Find A Grave.
Six of my 8 great grandparents and some of my GG grandparents lived in Chisago County (Nessel Township and Fish Lake Township) and the other 2 lived accross the border in Burnett County, Wisconsin, in the Grantsburg area. If you need any help in those areas perhaps I could help. Maybe we have family in common.

I had a good laugh, with all the Miltons and Lesters ... could you replace the T Milton picture with a M Lester picture on 46698816?
Thanks for filling in the others, also.
