Miller family members in Crocketts Bluff
I noticed that you have several unknowns in Crocketts Bluff Cemetery I have Bible Records that show that Charles J Miller and a number of his family are buried at Crocketts Bluff so I created memorials and entered their names and information from the Bible Records. Could some of these unknowns be them?

RE: Crockett's Bluff Cemetery
I have scanned the country-side all around Crockett's Bluff and generally can spot a cemetery but no luck with this one. I will contact Arkansas County Historical Society and see what they can tell me. Thanks for your work.

Crockett's Bluff Cemetery
Dale, Google Earth found a very tiny community on the western bank of the river NE of Dewitt. F/G has the cemetery listed but no directions or map.

Help me out here, please - if you can give me a landmark, I can find it. I have relatives buried there, as well as one I can't find buried anywhere. She is reportedly buried in this cemetery with other family members. I am looking for Amanda H Parker Pettis. The other Ragans in this cemetery I have found.

Any help appreciated. Gary, Kilgore, Texas

Henry H. Moody in Coffield Cemetery
I believe that the Henry H. Moody and wife, Nancy M. buried in the Coffield Cemetery in Arkansas are actually Henry H. Moody, who was born in Ashe County, NC, (which became Watauga County in 1850,) and his wife, Nancy M. Bloom. Henry H. Moody was born in October 1843. His name disappeared from Watauga County records in 1868-69.

Around 1870, this Henry H. Moody married Nancy M. Bloom, who was born in Missouri.
The 1880 Federal Census shows Henry H. Moody living as a farmer with wife, Nancy M. and four children in Bourbon Township, Calloway County, Missouri. In the 1900 Census, Henry H. Moody is shown as a hunter living in Mill Bayou, Arkansas County Arkansas. This Henry H. Moody was the son of Levi Moody and Aurilda Elizabeth "Rilda" Baird, both born in NC.

It is believed by many researchers that Henry H. Moody's middle name was Hedge. A Hedge Moody enisted in the Confederate forces in Watauga County, NC in September, 1861. He survived the war, married Ann Baird and had two children; Reildy Cordelia Moody and John H. Moody. About 1867-68, Hedge deserted his wife Ann and two young children in Watauga County, and they never heard from him again.

The disappearance of the names Hedge and Henry H. Moody from Watauga County records align very closely. Another clue: Hedge named his daughter Reildy and the mother of Henry H. Moody was Aurilda "Rilda" Baird.

Then we find Henry H. Moody of Watauga County, NC marrying Nancy M. Bloom in Missouri around 1870.

The birth dates on the memorial stone in the Coffield Cemetery in Arkansas, are the same as the birth dates of Henry H. Moody, formerly of Watauga County, NC; and his wife, Nancy M. Bloom, born in MO.

With all of this, I have reached the conclusion that the stone in the Coffield Cemetery most likely marks the grave of Henry H. Moody, formerly of Watauga County, NC. Other Mooody researchers also believe this to be correct.
