My husband and I have been researching our family history and genealogy for a good long while – since 1995 for me, since 1976 for my husband. The surnames I am researching are Ellis, Landrith(eth), McPherson, and Nash. My husband is researching Nutt, Hunt, Halsal, Davy, and Rowley. There is almost nothing we'd rather do than walk cemeteries on nice weather days. We appreciate Find A Grave making it possible for us to document our family graves for posterity.
If you believe any changes are required to any of the memorials that we have added, please E-mail us using the ‘Suggest a correction' link found under the ‘Edit' tab on the upper right side of the memorial. This way it links directly to the memorial in question.
TRANSFERS: We are usually quite agreeable with transferring any of our "non-relative" memorials over to you upon your request. Ask and ye shall receive. However, if you request transfer of one of our relative's memorials, explain your relationship in the request and why you believe it would be better for you to manage the memorial and we will give serious consideration to your request. Please note that it is not appropriate to request a transfer and then, after receiving the transfer, delete that page and substitute it with a new memorial that you have created. This practice denies credit to the original contributor (us). Please use the original memorial page to make updates and add information.
DUPLICATE MEMORIALS: It is not our desire to create multiple memorials for the same individual. If you find a duplicate memorial that we made, please know that it was an unintended mistake on our part and accept this extended apology in advance. Please notify us of our error by using the ‘Edit" tab on the upper right side of the memorial, and then click on the ‘Suggest a correction' link to send us an E-mail. Be sure to include in your E-mail the memorial ID # of our duplicate memorial. Kindly allow us thirty days from your original request for us to resolve the mistake.

Mathew Peak - Peake - Peek In the four years I've been working on tracking the history of those in Downing Cemetery (formerly D & D Cemetery) I think this is the fourth or fifth time I've tripped over the spelling of Mathew & Jane Peak's name. Now I find that there is another spelling. Mathew is also listed in Downing as Mathew Peek. A five minute search turned up all three names in one researchers tree. That tree listed Mathew's parents as William H & Charlotte (Bice) Peek Jr. Mathew's siblings are also listed with all three names. You were correct in declining my edit request. I think I submitted it in a moment of tired frustration. Thanks for catching my error.
RE: Octavia Ellis King Burial? Peggy, Octavia King does have a stone in Hillcrest Cemetery. Fairview Cemetery is about 3 miles on down N Highway from Hillcrest. There was no name change of Hillcrest. Sorry.
RE: Correction Made Hello Peggy. I was working on my ancestry.com tree on the Israel branch, my mom's side and did the hint to his find a grave and double checked it before I did the edit to you. I see that Homer J is your great grandfather, he is my 2x great grand uncle. His brother Samuel is my 2x great grandfather. That makes us 3rd cousins I think. Do you happen to know who gr gr gr grandpa William's father was? There was a Peter Israel in Ohio and a Samuel Israel in Ohio in the 1820's that could have been his father (my gr gr gr Grandfather / your gr gr). I have another xxsomething cousin that we are trying to connect the correct lines. Nice meeting you. Laressa
RE: David Landreth memorial I noted your fairly recent memorial for David Landreth # 144577998 and wife..they are kind of duplicates...back then there were 2 cemeteries side by side Mt Olive and Broadway..after decades of neglect the headstones were removed, area covered with dirt and a nice park errected..several concrete monuments with plaques listing those buried are there..you can google "founders memorial park, whittier ca" for sevetal articles..if you do a findagrave search for David in Los Angeles, Ca you will see both of his...i photographed the Landreth name on memorial at request of another findagrave member Roxanne # 48338376 who also asked if i knew who Davids dad was..at that i didn't..i sent her an update..maybe you are related?? Tim
