Bio Photo A native of Louisville, Kentucky, I've lived since 1998 in the Licking Riverside Historic District of Covington, directly across the Ohio River from Cincinnati. Much of my time on Find A Grave has been spent documenting the Grabinschriften of the German immigrants who settled in such large numbers in the Ohio River Valley, especially the members of the Deutsche Pionier-Verein. My grandmother Luetta Deitchman Crenshaw was active with the German-American Club Gesangverein in Louisville, and together we researched the families of her 2nd-great-grandfathers Carl Deutschmann (1800-1869) and Philipp Jacob Deußer (1815-1874). My favorite German connection comes through my great-grandfather Henry Lloyd Rogers, continuing back through my 6th-great-grandfather John Demoss (d. 1815), who operated a ferry at the mouth of the Great Miami River near North Bend, Ohio, then finally back to my 9th-great-grandmother Marthe, Madame de Rocoulle (c.1655-1741), who was a Hofdame at the Berlin court of Friedrich Wilhelm von Preußen (1688-1740) and Sophia Dorothea von Hannover (1687-1757) and was the governess of their son Friedrich der Große (1712-1786), König von Preußen. Marthe's first husband and the father of her children was lieutenant-colonel Isaïe Dumas de Montbail, a descendant of François II de Bretagne (1433-1488) by his mistress Antoinette de Maignelais (d. 1471), and of Georges de La Trémoïlle (1385-1446) by his wife Catherine de L'Île-Bouchard (d. 1472).

PLEASE READ: Please limit your edit requests to what you can document with primary sources or reliable secondary ones. A lot of erroneous information has been disseminated over the years through genealogical books and web sites with low standards of evidence. About half of the suggestions I receive are incorrect or want more information to be added than can be documented. Both will be declined. Instead of getting upset with me, unruffle your feathers and send me a message containing a list of sources supporting your conclusion. My mind can be changed, as we all make errors.
