Bio and Links
Bio Photo I love American history, I like dealing with names, and I love solving problems. It was just a matter of time before I got into genealogy!

None of the memorials I have posted are my relatives, and hence I have not researched them. I do try to add some detail to memorials though in an effort to identify the person.

If you want to write me about any of the memorials I've created, please leave a message on this page. To suggest a correction or edit for a particular memorial, please use the Edit button at the top of its page. I do not automatically approve all suggestions, meaning I need some sort of proof of new information. If I can't find any proof myself, I will ask you for it. (Note: Family trees on FamilySearch or Ancestry are NOT sources, and I will not add something just because it appears in someone's tree.)

If I have posted a memorial of one of your relatives and you would like the memorial transferred to you, please use the method that FindaGrave has provided, which is thus: Go to the memorial page and click the Edit button. Of the choices that follow, click on "Suggest any other correction or addition." This will bring up a message box for you to write me, and the email FindaGrave sends will include a link to the memorial as well as to your profile page. Simply write me a note requesting the transfer, and tell me how you are related to the person.

If there is an article that I have posted that you can use, feel free to copy it. All articles are in the public domain, that is, not copyrighted anymore, so you do not need my permission to use them. You'll find the source of the articles in the picture's caption.

Any gravestone pictures I shot myself as well as I could. Please copy and use them! Post them in your family tree on Ancestry or wherever. That's why I took them.

Last, I would ask folks NOT to post death certificates on my memorials because I feel they are not appropriate for a picture. It's just my preference. Thanks.

FindaGrave is a great website even though it's basically all about deaths! Still, it makes me think of the verse "And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life." (I John 5:11)

Hi Julia,

I have several sources for the names.

Her son purchased her marker in 1953 and put the maiden name Glawe on her stone.

Her son Albert gave his mother's name as Johanna Glawe on his social security application.

I also found a public family tree on which gives extensive information on the entire family with a vast collection and photographs.

Stones for her husband William, son Albert, and daughter Anna were all purchased at the same time although I only find Anna and her sister-in-law Anna on Find a Grave.

Thank you for considering my request.

RE: Eugene & Delia Mahaffey
Eugene and Delia are my great great grandparents. I'm related to all the Mahaffey's at Park cemetery.

Janet Connell McKelvie
I have left edits for Janet Connell McKelvie who is a cousin of my great grandfather, James McAuslan. His mother was Agnes Connell and Janet's father was David Connell. The 2 families immigrated together
from Scotland to Galt, Ontario, Canada. Janet's place of birth is Barony, Lanarkshire, Scotland. Her parents are David Connell and Margaret Campbell. According to the DUMFRIES REFORMER she married Robert W McKelvie Feb 28, 1868. If you agree, I would be pleased to have her in my care as a transfer.

RE: Smiths
Hello Julia,

Thank you so much for your help and generosity of time for making the effort to put together memories for people far distant from you, both in time and miles. Here are the memorial numbers for the relatives of mine that you manage at Morgan Cemetery:

I love the general pictures that you have posted for this cemetery. It looks like the kind of place that I would like to be buried in.

Where do you get the dates that you use for your memorials? A cousin told me that the church records were no longer existent?

Did Charles Morgan really work under Lafayette? I have a GGGGgrandfather who came over from France with Rochambeau, and stayed after the war; maybe they crossed paths! :)

Thanks again for your help!

I added the info you provided and wanted to let you know. This year, I did alot of photographing in each of the U.P. counties but I concentrated on Marquette since I live in town there. I photographed in their entirety, 13 cemeteries, including Holy Cross and Park cemteries. It took a while but I got it done. I have enough pictures to keep me busy till spring time now. I have not quite 3500 left to look thru for Park and add to here but have twice that for Holy Cross. I am not from here originally, so none of those that I have added are related to me. If there are any you would like transferred to you, just let me know and Id be happy to do it.

RE: Mary A. Smith in Morgan Cemetery
Hi Julia,

I am not of direct lineage to Mary, she is my 4th great aunt. The information that I've submitted to you is taken from a page that my grandmother copied directly from the David West family bible. Not sure where the original bible is now. If you want me to scan and send to you, I certainly can.

If you'd like to transfer to me, that's fine; are you right there in Clay? Someday, I need to make the trip.

Thanks so much,

Ty for the info. I am trying to add what i can to Park cemetery memorials as i have it or get it. The sextons records are super sketchy for some burials and makes it tough. Again though, ty for letting me know.
