Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am a native Texan, born and reared in Northeast Texas. I have been researching my families for about thirty years, making me the family historian.
I have spent weeks, days, and hours in many states researching the courthouses and walking the cemeteries looking for my family.
Just recently I began placing memorials to my family members on findagrave; a wonderful website. The majority of my postings are my family.
I try to acquire photographs of my relatives; this makes me feel as if I actually know them.
I am a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Daughters of the Republic of Texas and genealogy is my passion.

Your tombstone stands among the rest
Neglected and alone
The name and date are chiseled out
On polished marble stone
It reaches out to all who care
It is too late to mourn
You did not know that I exist
You died and I was born
Yet each of us are cells of you
In flesh, in blood and bone
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse
Entirely not our own
Dear Ancestor, the place you filled
One hundred years ago
Spreads out among the ones you left
Who would have loved you so
I wonder if you lived and loved
I wonder if you knew
That someday I would find this spot
And come to visit you

Emma,

Should this memorial mention she is buried with her infant son? The portrait of them in the same coffin is displayed, and her tombstone notes "In her bosom sleeps her infant son who tarried here but a night".

Question Regarding 150946900
Hi Emma,

My name is Jackie. I was just wondering if you had any knowledge or family ties to the families noted on this stone. Also, would I be able to use the photo?
Thanks so much,

Smith genealogy
Dear Emma,

1000 thank yous for your information on Find A Grave.
I live in Houston and would love to get together.
I am researching Blodgett Smith. I believe he is the brother-in-law of my Elnathan Wilcox who I think married Abigail Smith, d/o Thomas Smith b 1708 and Abigail Adams b 1716.

My direct email is jctrotman@aol.com.

Again, many thanks. Jane

Nordheim Taylor Family Cemetery
Emma, We found the cemetery yesterday. It is in quite a state of disrepair. Quite a few of the stones have fallen over. And some were missing entirely. With that being said, it was awesome to see the burial place of my late husband's Great Great Grandfather. I had findagrave add a map, so it would be easier to find. Take care.

SCRIVNER FAMILY
My name is Sara and I'm a member of the Ferris Garden Club. We've been busy with some cemetery restoration projects. I've taken the responsibility of doing research since I'm unable to help physically. Walnut Springs Cemetery in the Ferris/India location was completed and will now be maintained. Bluff Springs Cemetery is our next project. I was wanting to know if the living family members of the Scrivner Family has ever been contacted in any way about their relatives being buried here? Or if you have, I would like to contact them and see if they would like to help in any information if they would like to visit the cemetery when the restoration is completed.
