Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am a dedicated genealogist. I spend much of my free time working in the community as a Volunteer; the Victoria District Community Outreach Director for the United Methodist Church; a Board Member, a Lay Minister and a Ladies Ministry Leader for the United Methodist Church; a volunteer for TXGen Web Project for Goliad, Victoria, Uvalde, Medina, and Nueces counties; a volunteer for Find A Grave for Victoria, Goliad, Jackson, Calhoun, Uvalde, and Medina counties; as well as working full time as a crop insurance agent, a mother to five furry minischnauzers.

I host/assit with several family reunions a year for the Johnson, Ponton, Rudinger, and Turner families. I have finished one line of family history pertaining to the Loftin family that I have published and hope to finish a book on the Johnson Family Line, followed by one on the Tillotson Family Line.

I have several Facebook Heritage Lines:

Twisted Branches & Tangled Roots Family Research Services; Capt. "Black" Adam Zumwalt Family Line;
William and Isabella Moreland Ponton Family;
Henry William and Polly Johnson Pullin Family Hertiage; James Thomas & Martha Ann Thomas Burrall Johnson Family Heritage; Ed and Lillie Mae Tillotson Turner Family Heritage.

Please feel free to copy any photographs I have taken or put up...they are there for us as family historians to share--not hoard.

Today, I continue to research all the branches of my family tree. I have spent many hours talking on the phone, sitting behind a computer, and figuring out just how somebody's special someone fits into the family.

I love taking photos for others as well as my family as much as I love putting on my most comfortable pair of tennis shoes for a walk in the cemetery that is neatly manicured or is as overgrown as the dense jungles of exotic lands.

I hope to hear from any of my family members no matter how distant or close. And always remember: The mighty oak began as a single acorn. Albeit grew slow, it grew mighty sure.

Hi, I was checking my Find A Grave box and discovered your note. Don't think I was informed of your note but, if I was; need to know if this Alex L. Norris is the one buried at New Prospect Cem., Clarke Co., AL or someone else? Will put the dates on if I know the correct person. TTYL, Bobbye Varner

RE: Pullin Family Connection
Thank you so much for the photos. The Pullin Family is my husband's family but I have been doing the research for my grandchildren. Jesse & Ada are my husband's grandparents and I think he is a great great grandson of Henry Pullin. I would love to get stories from you. I am having computer problems, but as soon as I get it straightened out I am going to get busy with research etc.

Thanks again.

Slayden Cemetery
Sorry this reply is late. I see that Mr McCarrell has replied to your question.

I was in Harwood over the weekend for the Tumlinson/Alsobrook and the Fellers Reunion.

Took my Mother to Slayden to visit our family and the grassburrs were awful. Mr McCarrell was right about how high and how many. So we did not visit our family

I also have a Margaret Zumwalt in my Sion Boykin line from Gonzales Co.TX.

I was born 8-20-1943 Gonzales Co. TX to Willie Delbert Tumlinson and Opal Fellers.

So nice to hear from you. Hope you found the Cemetery Thank you
Mr. McCarrell for helping out.

I have 32,000 names in my FTM

I hope you do not mind a message that you did not ask me for...I have no idea how I got on your page but I saw that you were seeking directions to the cemetery. I was just there yesterday and posted a new cemetery picture for the gate. If you double click or enlarge the picture you can see the directions that I left so that other people would not have the trouble I had...what I really wanted to tell you is that now is a bad time to visit....There are literally millions of goathead grassburrs right now...they are very tall...half way up to your knees and so thick you can not go around them. I had to give up what I was working on (the Ball family) and using leather gloves it took me 15 minutes to remove the stickers...this winter would be a much more enjoyable visit...

William Campbell Johnson's Parents
Hi Judy, how are you? Thanks for linking Chesler Johnson with his parents a couple of weeks ago. I was wondering if you had any information on William Campbell Johnson's parents, Frank & Sarah Johnson (I assume her maiden name was Campbell since this was part of James William Campbell Johnson's name. According to his findagrave record, the were from Tennessee. These would be my great-great-grandparents.

Not sure how much you know about the Johnson family, but I was hoping you could help me.

Thanks! :)

Hi, would be glad to up-date Alex Norris if I knew where he was. There are 91 or 92 Alex Norris' on Findagrave. Use the Edit tab on his memorial and send it to me or correct it yourself (under the Edit tab). You can do that now. He isn't in my personal data base so he is in some cemetery we surveyed. If he belongs in your line you can also requested a transfer under that Edit tab, I think. Thanks for writing though. Bobbye Varner
