Yes, you have my permission to use this photo. It's not a terribly great one, but I guess it will have to do. Good luck with your publication. That's great that you are doing that.

Yours,

Mac

I didn't take the headstone pic, just the obit, DeLoss McKnight III did the headstone, I have no problem tho! I also corrected his birth I forgot it had VA but he was born in Randolph, He was also wounded at McCoy Farm on 20 Oct 1862, but you probably know all of that.. ;)

RE: Noah Long
Robin,

You're very welcome. I am glad I could have been of help.

Chalmette National Cemetery is one of the poorest maintained national cemeteries I have visited. Probably 30% of the headstones are in that poor condition or worse. I had to feel the name and number to make sure I had the correct headstone.

Be my guest using the photo. Please note that your message prompted me to update the Findagrave post, which was long overdue. See #58884109.

RE: Tarquin Freeman
Robin,

You're very welcome. I am glad to be of help. You have my permission to use the photo as you need.

I am sorry that the headstone is so hard to read. Chalmette is one of the poorest maintained national cemeteries I have seen. Many of the headstones are in as poor shape of Mr. Freeman's if not worse.

If you don't mind my asking, why did you select Tarquin Freeman specifically for your project? There are several hundred USCT soldiers at Chalmette. Just curious.

Joe
