I would like to tip my hat to those intrepid volunteers that take photographs in cemeteries. Getting a good photo is not easy! The angle of the sun, clouds, grass clippings, over grown weeds, etc. If you have a better picture to upload than I've taken, let me know and if I concur, I'll delete mine. If you want to upload a picture to a memorial I've created, let me know and I'll request one! Photographers deserve as much reward as they can get!|
Families that I'm researching include Lapham, Wixson, Hillyard-Hyliard, Jesseph, Rappleye, Van Nuys, Cantrell, Gennrich-Genrich, Wilk-Wilkie-Wilczewski, Hoff, and Filipowicz-Phillips. And my wife's family Sawyer, Mumm, Limb, Curry, Barkuloo, Schmidt, and Green.
Working Peoria County cemeteries. Photographed: Prospect, Chillicothe, Streitmatter, and Saint Joseph Mooney Cemetery.
I am now working the historic Springdale Cemetery. Have 100% photograhed Division A, The Willows, Forrest Lawn, Woodland Heights, Front Lawn, Chapel View, Mt. Sinai, Mt. Hope, Washington Heights, Resurrection, Masonic Garden, Last Supper, Sermon on the Mount, Gethsemane, Good Shepherd, Valley View, Hillcrest Division, Garden of Memories, Glen Division / Glen Ext., Hickory Slope / Ext. and Lawn Division grave markers in Springdale. Working the Fairview Lawn / Orchard Hill / Summit Range Divisions now.
If you make edit suggestions, I do investigate every suggestion before accepting. I do not accept suggestions, where the only source is an ancestry tree. Documentation is required.
Please do not ask me to link a memorial to burial "unknown", this web site is for the known dispostion of the remains. Let's keep it that way.
A few things I've learned...
Death certificates are good for date and location of death (other info on death certificate is advisory).
Birth certificate is the best source for date of birth, location, and parents.
Info from headstones is also advisory too. Headstones are sometimes put in place decades later by descendants and errors are made.
I will transfer ownership of a memorial to you if they fall within the Find A Grave guidelines (*with one exception), unless they are part of my own genealogical research.
Transfer requests should be for direct relatives within four generations. This would be your siblings, parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
*Once a memorial is complete: death record added, family links made, obituary added, etc. please do not ask for a transfer.
Many of the transfers that I've made, just sit there, no embellishments.

This is my Mother and her middle name is Lois. Please update your info.
|William Scoon||Ann Micheal, John Fisher|
Thank you for adding my cousins' Find a Grave entries---I very much appreciate them.
For Anna (Ann) Schmidt Micheal (Memorial # 173069859), she told me Louise was her middle name in letters about our family history.
For John Fisher (Memorial # 169548991), the picture of the tombstone gives (Ann's sister) Agnes' first name, middle initial, and year of birth. Additionally, his wife, Agnes Schmidt Bertinotti (she remarried after the death of John Fisher) (Memorial # 62242931) shows Ann was her sister and their parents, her middle initial, and year of birth---same as on John's tombstone. For their father, Charles Schmidt (Memorial # 155863223), he had the same parents as my grandmother, Lena Schmidt Scoon (Memorial # 136809052). Charles Schmidt had another sister Louise Feazel (Memorial # 175210671) that Ann is probably named after. Charles had a brother, Edward Schmidt (Memorial #107975383) buried by their parents in Lacon. The father was born 3-12-1846 in Germany and died 3-13-1895 in Lacon. It is hard for me to identify them in US census because their name keeps changing: in 1880 for Lacon, Marshall county, the father is listed as Chales Smidt with wife Anna, son Charles, & daughter Louesa. Then, the 1900 after his death, the family is listed under Anna Schmidt but the son (Charles) is misidentified as Carl with daughter Lena and son Eddie Schmidt. Think when they transcribe the census records it is hard to read the handwriting. Thanks for you consideration, William Scoon, cousin of Anna & Agnes; and great-nephew to Charles Schmidt (my grandmother's brother).

Illinois, Select United Methodist Church Records 1824-2009 listed her name as "Mary Katharyn Kimbrough"
William Jacquot also has detailed information and photographs of this family with her complete name.
FYI, I would not have submitted change unless I was certain (link to my tree).

I got in touch with a Nancy Hendricks (her daughter) who had given her middle name as Lois on a family tree in Ancestry.
Ruth L Dingledine Eishhorn's middle name is Lois. You can reach her in Ancestry or wait for her to reply to you - I left her note in Ancestry to get in touch with you thru her mmother's memorial page.
I usually have source cited in my tree. It took a bit to get it all okay'd.

I couldn't remember is I had sent the name change or not. In our family records it shows legal name Frederich and called Fred. My Grandma wrote down all the family info she got. My Great Grandad Emil Blumenshine gave her the info on his side of the family. Frederich was his dad Charles's cousin. We have many in that side of our family have gone by "nicknames". Have a good week!

|F J Stanley||Re: Dora B Standley Leach|
(I hope I'm doing this right - 1st time!)
The first "record" I ever found regarding the details of the family of "Joe Cephas" Standley and Eliza Jane Hunt that I ever found was through the LDS, decades ago. It was some sort of family group sheet or such, and it was authored by "Alta Rae Bateman". I guess Alta has been married a number of times, but she was the eldest daughter of Therlow Ray Leach, who was a son of Theodora.
I had occasion to talk to Alta on the phone in 2000, and she said that when she filled it out it was to fulfill some sort of obligation from her being a Mormon. (She later got into genealogy as a hobby).
In an email at that time, she said "My gr uncle James Andrew died and he left my grandmother executor of his estate but before she got there someone had broken in and taken anything of value. Most valuable to us was the genealogy. All she found were some letters from my grandmother and a few scribbled shetts not much information. But with that help I have been able to do what I have so far. I have looked for years for someone who had some of his work. He worked with a George M. Wood and had done a lot of work together. I know no more than this as this happened before I was born."
James Andrew Standley had corresponded with George W. Wood because his wife was part of the Wood family. A woman named Bonnie Pattok, of FL, had a series of web pages with information on this family, and I believe she said that she had ended up with the research of George W. Woods (I think she has since died). The applicable web page said:
"Josephine Flint, born at Wood's Cross, Davis Co., Utah, Nov 3, 1873.
Lillian Fuller Gilbert, Born Brigham, Box Elder, Co., Utah
Joe Cephus Standley is buried in Shelton, Neb.

VIII Lyda Jelana, born Sept 19, 1887, died Oct 25, 1889 at Shelton, Neb. Buried at Shelton, Neb.
Information from J.A. Standley, Pocatello, Idaho Letter, Sept 13, 1922"
The FindaGrave page for Dora's infant twin used to have Dora's name, so I'm unsure if the middle name there is accurate (unless they made it the same as Dora's).
Also, after having screwed it up for decades, I've finally sorted out the "Joe Cephus"s real name was actually "Josephus" (it's on a land grant record) - which matches what you have in Dora's obit.
Thanks for the work you have done here on FindAGrave! Are you a relative? I would love to hear about any more research that anybody has done on this family!
