Bio Photo I remember collecting my first documents on family history when I was 10. I am still collecting. The challenge is now to organize the information so it can be found when needed. Find A Grave is helpful because of the collective group effort to tackle this big job. Please feel free to use any of my photos for your family histories.

Nanette Atkin Prokopis "Emma" MAGNA- Our loving wife, mother,

grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Nanette

(Yia-Yia), passed away April 24, 2004, at the age of 65. She died

peacefully at home surrounded by her family and thus ending a

thirteen-year struggle with emphysema. Nanette was born June 12,

1938 in Tooele, Utah, to Floyd Thomas Atkin and Helen Dalton

Atkin Milano. She grew up in, and graduated from Tooele High in

1956. She fell in love with Bill Prokopis, they married when he

got out of the service in 1959 and have been side by side for the

past 45 years. Together in Magna they raised four children. She

dedicated her life to serving her family and brought them much

joy and happiness. She was a hero and an inspiration; we were

fortunate to have this wonderful woman in our lives. She was

always our biggest fan and will be greatly missed by all. Nan

and Bill established Bill's Lounge in 1964 where she has been a

respected and successful business owner/operator for the past 40

years. Also, Nan was a member of the Salt Lake County Firemen

Ladies Auxiliary and the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed

following her kids and grandkids in their sports and was known to

take in a Notre Dame Football game now and again. Survived by

husband, Bill; sons, Tedd (Debbie), Steve (Stephanie); daughters,

Kaye "Sis" (Myshele), Cari (Dennis) Miles Jr., all from Magna;

fourteen grandchildren and two ˝ great-grandchildren; brothers,

Tom (Lila) Atkin, John (Mary) Atkin; sister, Tonya (Brett)

Goodwin; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Preceded

in death by her parents; an infant son Prokopis; her grandson,

Billy T. Prokopis; good friends, Lolly Rokich, Marybell

Johannessen, and Karl Anderson; and her special dog, Puddin'

Cake. Special thanks to Dr. Gregory Dupont, Salt Lake County Fire

Department, and the many friends, employees, and patrons of

Bill's Lounge over the years… "Ma" loved you all. Graveside

services will be held 12 p.m. Thursday, April 29, 2004 at Mt.

Olivet Cemetery, 1342 East 500 South. Friends may call Wednesday

6-8 p.m. and Thursday 9:30-11:30 a.m. at the Peel Funeral Home,

8525 West 2700 South. In lieu of flowers please make donations to

United Cerebral Palsy Association of Utah 3550 S. 700 W. Murray,

Utah 84119 God watched you as you suffered and knew you'd had

your share. He gently closed your weary eyes and took you in His

care. God has you in His keeping; we have you in our hearts. Your

memory is our keepsake, with that we will never part. God saw you

were getting tired, a cure was not to be, so He put His arms

around you and whispered, "Come with Me." With tearful eyes we

watched you suffer and saw you fade away. Although we loved you

dearly, we could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped

beating, hard working hands to rest. God broke our hearts to

prove to us, he only takes the best.

In Loving Memory of Nanette Atkin Prokopis 6/12/1938 ~ 4/24/2004

If we could have a lifetime wish... A dream that would come

true... We'd pray to God with all our hearts... For yesterday and

you... A million words can't bring you back... We know because

we've tried... And neither can a million tears... We know because

we've cried... You left behind our broken hearts... And happy

memories too... But we never wanted memories... We only wanted

you... Missing you... Love forever, Bill, Tedd, Sis, Cari,

Steven, and families.

You posted a newspaper article about a divorce for Florence, memorial 73116347. Was the divorce in Idaho or Utah? What is the reference for the article? Thanks. Lorraine

Non Cemetery Burial
Hello,
I am trying to find the gravesite of Christopher Columbus Cooper in Perry County TN (1830-1862) and there is an entry that he has a non-cemetery burial. Can you tell me where this information comes from? Does someone know where he is actually buried? Thank you!
