What began as a way to memorialize only members of my family has turned into something larger and seemingly open-ended. Most of my memorials are not for my relatives.|
I have helped to inventory and photograph two cemeteries in their entirety: Oakwood Cemetery in West Chicago, Illinois and East Batavia Cemetery in Batavia, Illinois. I hope that my work may be of help to others.
I have tried to add as much information as is readily available. I will gladly make corrections or add information. Please use the EDIT tab and "suggest a correction or provide additional information". I try to process requests as quickly as possible, but please allow the recommended 30 days. Please do NOT use flowers for these purposes. Doing so is against FindAGrave guidelines. Flowers are to be tokens of respect; flowers left for any other purpose will be reported.
Thank you to those who have added photographs and flowers to my memorials. They are appreciated.
Out-of-guidelines transfer requests will be evaluated individually. Please do not take me to task if I do not transfer when such a request is made. Inappropriate or abusive comments will be reported.
Feel free to use any of my photographs for non-commercial use, but please give credit where credit is due.
"The ultimate goal should be to have meaningful, accurate memorials that honor those who have passed away, regardless of who created the memorial or who maintains it."

I really appreciate that you found Therese's obit, but please delete it as a photo. I retyped it, added it as a bio with citations, and gave you credit for finding it. Thanks so much!

I linked Cora to her husband and added additional information that I found on Ancestry.com Thanks for your support. Barb

Thanks for letting me know the death date didn't match the stone. I have changed to date accordingly.
Thanks again for the correction!

Thank you so much! You have been so helpful. With the names of their parents I was able to find the names of all five of their siblings on the 1920, '30 and '40 census reports. I requested the manager of the parent's memorial page to add them to their bio.
I also added a link to the parents, Joseph and Mary, per your request.

Thanks for all the linking of Chuck's family. They've known about the site for years and Chuck's brother, Richard (he's the one who had polio) is the family historian, but never joined Findagrave. Thus I'm transferring to you. Thanks for your work. Sister Sue (Chuck's wife) helps me photograph many cemeteries, but doesn't have time to maintain links on Findagrave.
Thank you so much! It's a long shot but I think they are a relative to my line. I hope to make the connection.
Thank you again,

Just got off the phone with Sue and Chuck and Chuck said, yes, he remembers you well - also that you were a very smart classmate. Coming from Chuck - that's a great compliment -- he's rare with compliments.
Thank you very much.
