|Rick Rusie||RE: House Family connection|
Hi Nancy yes I am of the Rusie Family descent. Micheal and Catherine Rusie are my Great great great great grand parents. They left Allen Pa. and traveled across country heading to Iowa for farm land, while passing through Indiana on Christmas Eve in 1836, they were out of food and stopped in the Town of Plainfield, they had no food to share and sent the Family to a neighboring Town of Mooresville. Were they met a Quaker by the name of Sam Moore, he offered them food and lodging, as well as an invite to stay there until Spring. Come Spring the Town folk had grown to like the Family. Sam Moore offered them a piece of land to stay and they did.

I am related to the Clarke's here in Richmond County, Virginia, where Alva came from. My great - grandmother was a Clarke.
Alva Clarke was the daughter of Carlton Randolph Clarke and Minnie Mae (English) Clarke. Alva is my 4th cousin 2x removed.
Alva descends from John Randall Clarke (1779) and I descend from Vincent Clarke (1778). Complicated to explain, but we are going back quite a few years here. John and Vincent were brothers. As time goes on, I hope to have the Clarkes linked on here.
Thanks for linking Alva to her parents.

You have Virginia's maiden name as "Lemay"---do you have a source for that? Her parents and sibs are "Lammey" and on census records it is Lammey as well. Just curious?

I wanted to let you know that I just tried to send the obituary for Mrs. Stewart's memorial but I got a message that the contributor's account has been disabled. I was able to submit her place of birth, date of death, & place of death by way of the edit screen.

I apologize for the mistake. I was looking at Mr. Stewart's memorial, but then forgot to go to Mrs. Stewart's to send the obituary. I did not create her memorial, but I will send it to the person who did.

No connection whatsoever that I'm aware of--just enjoy making sure folks have memorials, love spending time in the local cemeteries taking pictures and transcribing inscriptions. Plus, in the case of Nellie, there's a history component (as you know, the Brawners are big around here) that made her interesting to me. If they'll help you fill out a family grouping, let me know and I'll be happy to transfer them!
