RE: Herman Kirchberger
Yes, the last line could be "Erected by his wife". You could contact the cemetery office and ask if the card for this plot indicates who purchased it.

RE: Herman Kirchberger
Funnily enough, it's a bit easier to decipher the letters on the digital photo than in person. Below the name and death date, I think it reads "Aged 23 yrs 2 mos" and below that, in italics, maybe "Erected by In????ifo" (I can't decipher the ????)

Hope this helps.

stone cleaning
It was fun cleaning the stone, I now carry bottled water, scrub brushes and soft soap with me as it works the best. Anytime you need anything from Pine grove let me know... Pat

Hmmmm..... I'm going back out there next week, resubmit the request, and I'll see if I can find it.

A. Rutherford and H. Kirchberger
I was able to find Alexander Rutherford's headstone, but there were no other Rutherfords in the area. It looks like the stone was designed for more family members, but either no one else was buried in that plot or they were and their names weren't added to the stone. I looked at every stone in the Field of Manoah and didn't find Herman Kirchberger. I might have missed him, though, since some of the stones were quite worn and I didn't spend too much time trying to decipher those. When I get a chance I'll try to see if the cemetery office can point out the location to me on a map: even though you have the plot number, the graves aren't laid out in any rational numerical order, so it unfortunately doesn't help much when it comes to trying to find the graves.
Best,
Doug

RE: Bertha Terry stone
I always find it amazing when things like that happen. Whenever I am having a difficult time locating a headstone I start talking to the deceased asking for divine intervention.

Thank you for taking the photos and sharing your story. It is greatly appreciated!
