I spend a lot of time increasing the volume and accuracy of biographical information and links even for unrelated families.
I began studying my family history in 1976 and have been at it ever since. I love searching for members of my family tree and learning all I can about their lives.
Personal focus of research on:
The Lyman Family in America: the Ancestors & Descendants of Richard Lyman & Sarah Osborne from High Ongar, England, 1631.

|MrsB||Kelly edits appreciated!|
We went out this morning and photographed John and also his wife, Marie H Kelly. Then I went to the Washington County obits and saw that someone had transcribed an obit for him, and that the Genealogical Association added it this past February. Thank you so much for your links!

I have not received an email with the information you would like changed. Please provide that again, if the transmission failed and I will get right on it.
|Mary Hammond||Capt. Oliver Lyman|
I have begun to correspond with a gentleman in Ohio who is trying to do a SAR application on Capt. Oliver Lyman. He descends from the Capt.'s g gr son, Edwin who was on the 1850 census with his sister, Wealthy, in the Rogers home (a Linnberry relative). Their dad (Oliver) had died in 1843.
In order to better help our prospective SAR & DAR members, I think you, he & I should collaborate privately. Please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org

I apologize for my delay in replying to you. I got sidetracked by too many other things.
The application by Mary Augusta Pierpont Barnum was given #17208 ( probably way before 1950) and may not have been rejected, but DAR now says ďfuture applicants must prove correct lineage.Ē Mrs. Barnumís application mistakenly showed that Mary Lyman who married Luntra Lord was a daughter of Capt. Oliver Lyman & Eleanor Lyman.
DARís comments posted there said
1) PROOF OF DEATH AND RESIDENCE NEEDED.
2) MARY NOT DAUGHTER OF OLIVER BUT OF JOSEPH LYMAN (A072609), 1731-1804,
3) & HIS WIFE MARY SHELDON.
BTW, Mrs. Barnum & 3 other ladies did successful applications on Lynde Lord whose son, Lynde Lord married Mary Lyman. Mrs. Barnum did 4 other successful applications on HOLDEN, ABNER (A056867), JACKSON, EDWARD (A060969), MERRIAM, SAMUEL (A077729), SHELDON, ELISHA (A102585) who was Patriot Lynde Lordís father-in Ėlaw.
Previously I had been able to see only snippets from the book, ďGenealogy of the Lyman family in Great Britain & America; the ancestors & descendants of Richard Lyman, from High Ongar in England, 1631,Ē by Lyman Cole in 1872, Today I found an easier to navigate version of the Lyman book than one I previously found on Heritage Quest.í
Might you have primary documents for these things we are missing?
1.Oliver Lymanís birth in 1796 with his parents documented
2. birth date and place for his wife, Joanna/Joan Linaberry/Linnberry
3. Gadís death date & place which the book shows as Feb. 1813, Charlotte, VT
4. birth and death dates and places for Gadís wife, Prudence Bill/Williams. The book said she was of Huntington, MA.
I hope that DAR will accept pages from this 1872 book as sufficient documentation for Oliverís birth in 1796 & Gadís death if I canít find it in

Was your Patriot the Elias (1715-1803) who married Anne Phelps? There re 4 DAR Patriots with that name with a comment on the one (1710-1790) saying
1) DATA/PC RE SERVICE 8-2002 HFK which I assume is about his service. Let me know if I can be of any help to you. Good luck.

We are trying to help a prospective DAR member do an application on Captain Oliver Lyman. The only DAR application on him was rejected. With this application we hope to make him a "reinstated" DAR Patriot
We need documentation that Oliver Lyman (1796-1843-5), was a son of Prudence Bill & Gad Lyman and that Oliver married Ann Linberry.
Thanks for any help,
Mary A. Hammond (*48241044)
|Tyler James McCane||Daniel Lyman and wife, Sarah|
I have added photos for the memorial pages of Daniel Lyman and his wife Sarah Alexander, buried at Restland Cemetery in Mendota, Illinois. I also sent an edit to add the date of death for Sarah, which was 14 Dec. 1892.
|JOsh||Joseph Westcott Hamilton|
Do you have any more information about this individual.
Specifically I am wondering where you may have found the middle name and the exact date of birth. I have been researching Joseph for sometime, but have not come across a primary source to ever confirm this information.
However, I do have pictures of the gravestone and other Hamilton gravestones from the same cemetery. Joseph's Gravestone had unfortunately cracked in half from age.

|Anonymous||Jerusha Newcomb Brewster|
Oops, sorry, I had requested information on the grave marker of my ancestor but mistakenly referred to her as Jerusha Newcomb Bradford. It should have been Jerusha Newcomb Brewster. Sorry for the inconvenience this may have caused.
|Anonymous||Jerusha Newcomb Bradford|
Thank you for all the work you have done. Would you be able to tell me what the lower part of the inscription says on the grave marker of Jerusha Newcomb Bradford, buried in Mountani View Cemetery, New Concord, Columbia County, New York. It is several lines long and I seem to be able to read only a few of the words, and might start with the word "We...." I think there is a phrase toward the end, "Triumphant spring...." Thank you for your help.
