My husband Melvin* and I have been active in our own family genealogies for about 35 years and active in Sumner County, Kansas history and genealogy for almost 30 years. His roots are in the Milan area and mine in the Conway Springs area. We read, recorded and made books for the Milan Cemetery, the Spring Hill Cemetery and the Amish Cemetery in 2000, the Conway Springs Cemetery and the St. Joseph Cemetery in 2002, and the Mulvane Cemetery in 2005. We also enjoy doing lookups from the many transcriptions and databases we have done regarding Sumner County history and families.|
His surnames are SHAFER, SPACE, WATKINS, HALEY, SMITH, WARNER, BUCKINGHAM, DILL, FULLER, PUTMAN.
My surnames are ORR, STINSON, THORP, KNIFFEN, BEST, BALL, SCOFIELD, AUBLE, WALKER, NICHOLS.
I welcome being contacted about any errors found in the records I've posted and I will be happy to transfer ownership of memorials to those who are family members (or closer family members) of the deceased.
*Melvin passed away on April 7, 2009, so I'll be carrying on by myself now. We were married on May 28, 1950.

James died on March 26, 1986. He's buried with his former wife Josie. On her site you have a date 21 Mar 1987. Could you tell me what that date refers to. He was born on July 9, 1903 in Oklahoma. His # is 30599072. His last wife Dorothy Hoffman Dragoo Robertson was my mothers aunt. Thanks for the help Audrey

Hello, I to write and thank you for posting the thorough notes on Anna Enos Smith Warner (Eldridge). She showed up as "Anna Eldridge" on the 1840 Census record of my ancestor, and I was having the most difficult time trying to find any connection! Backtracking, I found her living on her own with a very young girl on the 1830 Census, but the child was too young to be my ancestor. From the name, I postulated that she was the wife of Stephen Eldridge, but had abandoned that idea when I found Stephen still was still very much alive in 1830. This threw me for such a curve while trying to determine who this woman was! I now realize she is related to my ancestor through Sarah Sines. I also was perplexed about why I could not find a burial record for Anna. I do not know where she resided in 1850, but I would suspect in the home of another niece or nephew in Hancock County, Ohio. I can now add my own speculation to your notes. As Anna and Stephen chose to live apart, and as Anna was buried with the surname Warner rather than Eldridge, I suspect the marriage was not a happy one.
