I am a retired elementary school teacher and administrator. I am very passionate about genealogy and the history of Western North Carolina and Blount/Monroe Counties of Tennessee. I will be happy to share photographs from local cemeteries here in the Crabtree/Iron Duff area of Haywood County, NC.|
If you have time, I would appreciate your paying a visit to the memorial for my brother David Edwards Nichols, Metz Cemetery, Graham County, NC. David passed away on February 17, 2012. He was an avid genealogist and took many photos of stones for Find A Grave, as well as located pictures of individuals so I could post them. I have many more to post because he worked much faster than I. He's in Heaven now, and knows the answers to many of the questions I still have about our ancestors--always a step ahead of me. Thank you.
David Edward Nichols

Fran, Thanks! I am thoroughly enjoying your book! Tommie

Yes, we were fortunate; we were home and my husband heard it coming and we went into the laundry room. Only lasted about 20 seconds; but the noise was frightening, knowing what it was doing. There were people who had more damage than us; and yesterday morning there was another severe thunderstorm and yet another tornado that touched down about 7 miles from us. More bad weather tomorrow! So we'll just keep an eye on the weather and go from there. So glad that you are much better - been thinking about you. Let's hope and pray that our New Year gets back on track!

Thank you so much for catching my mistake! I'm hoping to look for the graves of John W. and Mary this spring. If you have any information on these, please let me know. Thanks again.
