Galesville MD was my hometown, I went from attending the same school my father went to, serving in the Navy as Hospital Corpman in Viet Nam, graduated from Anne Arundel Community College and the University Maryland and then left Maryland to pursue my livelihood as a Audiovisual Coordinator at Craven Community College in New Bern, NC|
I am now retired and spend a lot of time researching on Ancestry.com and at the public library. I have now more that 40000 images of cemeteries. I am now using mapper.acme.com to located less know cemeteries displayed on topo maps and get correct long and lat. for cemeteries. Another site is itouchmap.com/latlong.html as it works both ways.
I like to follow-up when I find someone is looking for a particular person if I have some information that I have found from Ancestry or other sources. Sometimes I need help as the cemetery description lack location details so I like checking with the person who listed the memorial.
Someone asked who is paying for the gas, the purpose of this service is we do it for the enjoyment and gaining knowledge of our community. So also is this free service to keep our bodies and minds working and active.

I saw that you added the memorials and photographs. I would like to know where it's located, they are my cousins. Thank you.

It would really help if you could provide the grave block and plot location. The cemetery is HUGE and there are over 145 photo requests. It has gotten so frustrating for the volunteers to get the grave locations that most of us have quit trying. Family members can contact the cemetery office and usually get the information more easily. If you get the location, you can add it to the memorial or message it to me on Find A Grave

Really appreciate the work you have done and are doing. I have linked some information to graves that you have identified in our family in Evergreen Cemetery in New Bern NC. Kudos.

Hi John, Someone pointed out to me that I had a duplicate for Boyd Rayfield Ormond. So, when I looked, you had indeed added another memorial for Boyd. Mine happens to be the older of the two and I also have more links in it, so I sorta hate eliminating it. If you are related and closer than 4th cousin, I will be glad to transfer my memorial to you if you like. Otherwise, I don't see the need for both.
Let me know your thoughts.

Hi John, I was getting around to seeing the photo you took of the spouse of Johnnie Haddock # 115411996, he is linked to Eileen Simpson # 105032567, Do me a favor and add that same photo to his memorial, he is named on it. Thanks so much as always for all your great work. Respectfully, Jerry

Thanks John for editing the memorial of Charles B Cox who is buried in the Roach Cemetery. My records indicate the the parents, Sylvester Cox and Catherine Roach, were married on Jan 15, 1857 in Craven County.
Sylvester Cox was the son of William Cox and Louisa Stokes Cox, born about 1830. Catherine was the daughter of Jimmie Roach and Sallie Adams Roach, born Aug 13, 1838 in Craven, NC; both who are buried in same Roach cemetery as Charles B Cox.
