Also about Transfers......
If they are part of your family I will Transfer...usually in each of our families there are only a couple of people who are interested in this.
I have had family members transferred to me and have worked to add family information to all of them including photos. Be assured that I would never ask to have a memorial transferred to my membership for the sake of numbers. That is not my goal, AT ALL. I have numerous Virtual Cemeteries that are set up to hold members of the various direct lines/branches of my "Hair" family tree.
I do hope that some day these family branches will get in touch with me.
Two men were walking home after a party and decided to take a shortcut through the cemetery just for laughs. Right in the middle of the cemetery they were startled by a tap-tap-tapping noise coming from the misty shadows. Trembling with fear, they found an old man with a hammer and chisel, chipping away at one of the headstones.
"Holy cow, Mister," one of them said after catching his breath, "You scared us half to death -- we thought you were a ghost! What are you doing working here so late at night?"
"Those fools!" the old man grumbled. "They misspelled my name!"

Thank you Nadine. The perfect place for her obit. You reminded me that I had not worked my way around to post her photo (until just now). I keep saying that 'I'm making the trip up to Belton' to find more family info- something always come up. Soon. Gratefully. Walter

Nadine, good to hear from you. I suspect his death certificate year of birth might be wrong. I think in the 1740's is more accurate. I got the death record from ancestry. Look in the South Carolina section for deaths from 1821-1955. I wasn't aware that James had been married before. I don't believe James and Elizabeth had any more children, but I'm not certain of that.
