Bio Photo The stone in my photo says it all

"This is Me"

This stone can be found in the Mentor City Cemetery, Mentor Ohio. It is part of a family plot towards the back of the cemetery. There is a main family stone and than this one. It's not the prettiest stone by far but the guy had a sense of humor. I smile everytime I see it.

Now to more Find A Grave stuff.

You know what truly amazes mamaquilts, is the number of people who send her an email stating that the memorial she has created is a duplicate. Then it turns out that the other memorial is a duplicate because it was created after the one that Mamaquilts made. Mamaquilts does report people who purposely create duplicates.

Please use the Edit buttons found on each memorial. They do make is much easier for updates to be done.

Please use the EDIT button for memorial transfers with a statement as to why you want to have the transfer made (family member, friend, military etc). If it falls outside of the Find A Grave rules, mamaquilts has the last say as to whether or not she'll transfer. She is very accommodating with transfers.

Please remember that most of the people here on Find A Grave are volunteers and do have lives out side of this site. Please wait the 30 days for corrections to be done.

UPDATE: Please wait for the 30 days that is required for Find A Grave correction to take place. Mamaquilts does not live on this website and makes corrections on her time as it is permitted.

In March of 2014, Mamaquilt's Dad was killed in an accident. If you would like to visit her Dad's memorial you can find it here

RE: Mary Tyler/ John Tyler
Hi
I wrote to Mentor Cemetery, got this reply, will create a Memorial for John.

Dear Mr. Willey ;
I have a John C. Tyler in the cemetery buried in Sec. 6, Lot 25, Gr. 10 next to Mary Jane Aldrich Tyler who is in Gr. 9. He died in Mentor on February 18, 1928 at age 86 and was buried on February 20, 1928. He died from Cirrhosis of the Liver. Hopefully this helps you.
If you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Laura Trost, Administrative Assistant II
CITY OF MENTOR | 8500 Civic Center Boulevard | Mentor, OH 44060

Thanks for suggesting that I contact the Cemetery.
Regards John

Transfer Mayer @ Highland Park
Please transfer both Frank #94487923 and Anna #94487920 Mayer, burred at Highland hills cemetery. I am their Great-grand son. My grandmother has Lula was one of their 5 daughters, Lula's daughter Donna is my mother. I've been doing genealogy since "Roots" in 1979.

I have a hand written letter by my second cousin George Angel who sent it me in 1982. His mom was Stella, another daughter. He has explained surname changes my mother knew them at Meyer.
Thank you for setting this site up.

RE: dupes
That would be easier to copy the uploaded one but it won'e be the quality of a first generation photo. I use an editing program to reduce the photos retaining the best quality and each copy of a copy after that is degraded to a degree. I will usually get to it in about a week though. I believe the one in question has been corrected and I will be removing mines. BTW the transcribers are really doing a job of screwing up memorials. I have seen dates such as 11925 from submitted edits. And one has six duplicate of the same. And the sad part is if that photo is attached to other memorials once deleted it will remove all the photos. that hurts on headstones with multi family members. Sooner or later the beta upload kinks will be worked out.

duplicate memorials
I was contacted by a person about a duplicate memorial of yours and mines created via the beta upload. That is proven to be a headache in a lot of cases. A lot of members are not using the drop down and assigning the photo to the right one resulting in dups. So a new memorial with a photo is created and I have found so many. Since yours is the first Ignore any requests by them. In due time when I can find the original photo out of 100,000 I will upload it and then remove mines.

Find A Grave Transfer: Frank Dohnal
Thank you very much for transferring my great-grandfather's memorial to me. I really appreciate it, and this will make it significantly easier for me to write an appropriate Bio, since it usually takes me several iterations before I am satisfied, and that is even before I get comments from other relatives.
