Bio Photo The stone in my photo says it all

"This is Me"

This stone can be found in the Mentor City Cemetery, Mentor Ohio. It is part of a family plot towards the back of the cemetery. There is a main family stone and than this one. It's not the prettiest stone by far but the guy had a sense of humor. I smile everytime I see it.

Now to more Find A Grave stuff.

You know what truly amazes mamaquilts, is the number of people who send her an email stating that the memorial she has created is a duplicate. Then it turns out that the other memorial is a duplicate because it was created after the one that Mamaquilts made. Mamaquilts does report people who purposely create duplicates.

Please use the Edit buttons found on each memorial. They do make is much easier for updates to be done.

Please use the EDIT button for memorial transfers with a statement as to why you want to have the transfer made (family member, friend, military etc). If it falls outside of the Find A Grave rules, mamaquilts has the last say as to whether or not she'll transfer. She is very accommodating with transfers.

Please remember that most of the people here on Find A Grave are volunteers and do have lives out side of this site. Please wait the 30 days for corrections to be done.

UPDATE: Due to personal reasons at times edits might take up to 30 days to get completed. Please wait.

In March of 2014, Mamaquilt's Dad was killed in an accident. If you would like to visit her Dad's memorial you can find it here

RE: Highland Park photos
Hi, I took a few Gleason photos (Chester, Carrie, Hiram) but that's all I have. I didn't see any headstone for May.

Dear Fellow Historian,

Thanks so much for looking! That is very kind of you. I might run across her somewhere else some day.

Chester Bond Gleason # 93281599
Dear Friend,

You have done a great job at Highland Park Cemetery! I found your Chester Bond Gleason (# 93281599) with ease. This Chester was married to MAY C. DESSERT GLEASON. I thought she would be buried with her husband Chester, but can't find a record of her. Would you happen to have her grave somewhere in your files?

Mary Salamone @Mentor Cemetery
Thank you for the transfer of Mary's memorial. Mary & Ed lived next door to my family for over 30 years, was my 2nd mother and awesome lady, that I loved dearly. The person that provided the information for her bio did a great job. I'm going to request her husband Edward's memorial so that I can add a bio for him. Thanks for all the great work your doing for the site. Otto

Maribel Olds Carpenter
mamaquilts --
My interest in the Olds family has lead me to Maribel Olds Carpenter whom I was glad to find you have posted as FindAGrave ID no. 7376277 from Lake View Cemetery in Cleveland, Ohio.

You also have two posts for a John W. Carpenter. One is No. 73762667 who shows no birth date although the posted picture of his headstone does. This headstone seems right for the husband of Maribel whose headstone it matches.

The other entry of John W. Carpenter is No. 7376266 and has no marker photo but is linked as spouse of Maribel O. Carpenter. However, he is given a death date of 24 March 1923 which is certainly wrong for the husband of Maribel and also for their son John W. Carpenter, Jr.

I wonder if you have any notes from which this can be clarified.

Thanks for the work you have been doing. It is certainly very helpful in my project.

January Herzak # 94653078
I believe this might be John Herzak. Is there a possibility there is an error in the first name? Also,do you have any of the birth dates for people that died in this cemetery? I noticed only death dates are listed with ages at their death. Thank you so much for your time and contributions to Find A Grave!

RE: Charles Doty
Thank you so much for checking it out and finding that both memorials are good as is. I find so many duplicates as I try to find memorials so I always try to let managers know. Most all are duplicates. Your work is appreciated and sure to be by future generations! Thanks again!
