Bio Photo Updated August 19, 2014

Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery (ALNC)...

The following Sections are the currently active burial sections (opened for interments on the dates listed):

Section 11, August 2012
Section 12, October 2012
Section 6B, November 2012
Section 14, June 2013
Columbarium 7, Wall 1, April 2014
Columbarium 7, Walls 2, 3 & 4, July 2014
Columbarium 7, Wall 5 August 2014

I'll upload grave-site photographs for these Sections without the need for photo requests.

Note: Please refrain from requesting a photograph until at least 4 months after interment to allow the professional grounds-keepers time to engrave and install marker stones (or niche covers), lay sod, and generally make the gravesites presentable for photographing. If I have not uploaded a photo by by the 4 month mark, please do request a photo.

July 2014 - For the last several months the cemetery has been working diligently to re-sod ALL of Section 5 and Section 8. This includes raising the hight and leveling of all 6,000 marker stones, removeing the old grass/weeds, leveling the ground with good black dirt and laying sod. Then it will need watered for several weeks before those sections are ready to be photographed. They are raising and leveling the stones in Section 7 now, so I suspect they will be doing the sod think there next.

Thank you for your patience.

Biographical information belongs in the "bio" field or in other text fields on the MAIN memorial page.

Please do NOT post pictures of text to any of my memorial pages (Example: Do NOT post pictures of; obituaries, death notices, news paper articles, death certificates, remembrance cards, etc.).

Also, do NOT post biographical information in the Flowers section. This too, belongs in the appropriate text fields on the main page.

Forward the information using the "Edit" tab and appropriate link. I'll ensure it is added to the memorial page in a prompt, accurate and professional manner.

Do NOT post non-photograph graphics to the photo section (such as military emblems, membership emblems, flags, candles, etc). These types of graphics waste the 5 free "photo" slots provided by

Family members should NOT have to sponsor a memorial page (cost $5.00) in order for them to upload a favorite picture simply because someone uploaded a non-photograph graphic or a picture of text to the photos section of the memorial page.

Transfer requests should be for direct relatives within four generations. This does not include Cousins, Aunts or Uncles. Nor does it include your neighbor or BFF.

"The goal at Find A Grave should NOT be to manage all of your family members. If you have information to add, you should suggest it to the current manager and they should make the changes."

Please respect my photographs, they are for your personal use only. Do NOT copy them to this or any other internet website; do NOT sell them, or otherwise attempt to profit from their use without written permission.

For example: Do NOT charge your relatives a "handling" or "printing" fee to obtain a copy of your family tree if it contains one of my photographs.

In summary, do NOT take credit for any photograph that you did not physically take yourself.

About me...

I live in north-central Illinois, within 2 miles of the intersection of I-80 and I-55. I enjoy researching my family tree (9,000+ and growing).

My father's family is from Allegheny and Armstrong counties in western Pennsylvania. My mother's family is from Charles County, in southern Maryland.

We have limbs, branches, and roots that stretch across the United States. Most however, settled in Maryland, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Illinois, North Carolina, South Carolina, Texas, and California.

I enjoy taking cemetery, historical site, and other photographs. I am willing to assist with reasonable gravesite and non-gravesite photo requests; I will also consider the unreasonable requests.

Ruth McDonald Kardos
Hi, I was wondering if you are by chance related to Ruth McDonald Kardos? She is in my ancestor line on my Grandmother's side, and I'm trying to learn all I can about the McDonald's. Find A Grave Memorial# 42280473 Thanks!

RE: Melvin/Wilhemina Lassiter Memorials
I'm forwarding the pictures to your e-mail address so you can edit them at your convenience. I take extra care to take the best possible pictures, but I don't carry water or wipes with me to clean each stone.

Is your request for cleanliness in the Find A Grave guidelines or personal preference?

Mr. Tittermary's memorial
Hi Mr. Ross:

Do I have to e-mail FindAGrave or do you? I've never done this before and am not sure how it's handled.

Thanks for your response.

Edward M. Tittermary, Jr.'s memorial
Hi: I was given some information tonight about Mr. Tittermary and while I was entering it, I decided to check to make sure I had not duplicated the memorial. Well I noticed that you are maintaining this memorial. It is a duplicate.
I entered this memorial on June 23, 2005.
I'm just letting you know that this is a duplicate in case you would like to remove yours.

Howard Charles Miller Jr.
I just added a photo of the gravesite for Howard Charles Miller, Jr. at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville, PA and thought you would be interested to know that your memorial for this person (#82151019) appears to be a duplicate and should probably be deleted. There was an earlier memorial for the same person (#81724780), to which I added my picture and submitted edits so that it would be complete. Thanks for all your contributions.

RE: John Dundas
I did read your profile page, but I have found that people who make those kinds of statements usually don't truly mean them or will make exceptions, so I always ask.

John Dundas
I would like to ask if I may have permission to use your photo of John Dundas' grave with credit on my tree.

Either way, thank you for taking the photo!
