I've been working on my family tree for 36 years and findagrave has been a great help.|
Most of my transcriptions were done pencil to paper, before digital cameras. Please let me know if I've made any errors in my transcriptions, I'll be happy to fix them.
Please don't ask me to make changes or corrections based on speculation. Unless I know the family history, I enter what I see on the grave marker, just as it is.
If you find I've made an entry for your family member, please request a transfer. I'll be more than happy to transfer them to you, if they're not my family. PLEASE request transfers through the EDIT tab on the memorial.
Please feel free to use the photos I've added.
Have a great day!
One Final Gift
by: D.H. Cramer
Scatter me not to the restless winds
Nor toss my ashes to the sea.
Remember now those years gone by
When loving gifts I gave to thee.
Remember now the happy times
The family ties are shared.
Don't leave my resting place unmarked
As though you never cared.
Deny me not one final gift
For all who came to see.
A simple lasting proof that says
I loved and you loved me.

The info I have so far is William Walker Lindsley (born 5/15/1848, died 3/12/1917)would be her father. Minnesota marriage index (Family search). Siblings would be Burton B born abt 1869 in, Jessie J. born abt 1873 in, Etta Elenore Lindsley Carpenter McDonald (my ggrandmother) born 1/18/1874 died 1/31/1965 and Ray Roscoe born 11/30/1883 in New Hampton,Chickasaw, Iowa. I believe all but Daisy and Ray were born in Minnesota.I did find Ray's chistening papers once connecting him to Rosanne. My main sources have been Family search, Ancestory.com and Find a grave for this info. Maybe providing this will help make solid connections for someone.

I'm sorry Shelly,
Have you contacted anyone at the convent? I spoke with a nun while I was taking photos the other day & she said, well, that was a long time ago. The headstone actually says Plank. I don't know what to tell you. I believe you know what's right, but I'm not sure you want me to add her headstone since it's wrong. Let me know. Maybe the family might want to replace it???? Just an idea. Talk to Prioress Ann. She may be able to help you. I'll be working over there all summer, not every night, but several evenings a week...I hope. Barring the heat. I'll add that headstone if you wish. The other one is on Sr. Relindis's memorial, not your's, the other one.

Hi again Shelly,
I've compared the two memorials & all I can tell is, you put the birth year on the memorial wrong according to the message you sent me, the tombstone is correct. Now, the name, different story. If you got all your information off Ancestry, Geni & such, I can tell you, people put things on those that are not necessarily right. There are people putting my family on My Heritage who don't even know my family. It clearly says it's by someone unknown to the family who started it. smh. A lady I know does both sides of my family on Ancestry because it's attached down the line to hers so I give her information & pictures, etc. I just know my cousin who did another area of our tree only takes census, baptismal records, birth & death certificates, marriage license, probates, etc to verify things on ours. No Grama's stories as he says. lol.
I'm headed over to look at the kiosk now.

Oh dear Shelly,
I really can't say what you can do except call the Convent & I mean, those tombstones have been there a long, long, time. I don't know if I'd even change them. I'm going to have to do that for my grandfather in law's also. They spelled his name wrong. Why don't people care enough to correct them? smh. I'm sorry. Maybe they spoke no english or such broken english, they got their names wrong. I don't know. I'm just speculating. lol. The good thing with the headstones are that their name is spelled wrong, & not too wrong, but there's no last name on the headstones. I will add the picture of Sr. Harlindis/Harlinda & you can see.
If I can help, please let me know.

|Sue||Barbara "Sister Harlinda" Blank|
Hi Shelly, I wonder if you know something the sisters don't know about her. They have a Sister Harlindis Plank, Aug 12, 1863--Dec. 17, 1893 that seems as tho it could be who you're talking about. I have a picture of the headstone. And I think maybe you looked for her under the name you have & didn't find her & added your memorial for her. When you didn't add her name the way all the others are added. You know what I'm saying? Also the same for Elizabeth "Sister Mary Relinda" Blank. Also listed as Sr Relindis Plank with dates of Sept. 7, 1871--Mar. 16, 1959 on the headstone shown. Again, dates close to your dates on her memorial you created. I will go up later on today & look at the kiosk & see if I can find any listings under Blank. Please let me hear from you to verify the last name. I'm working in this cemetery this summer so I'm just trying to clear something up. :)
Thanks in advance Shelly,
I just live over the hill from the cemetery. :)

|Bobby Hunt||RE: Just me...|
Doing pretty good, spouse had cervical fusion surgery a month or so ago, so I played nursemaid. Followup is this morning, so hopefully cervical collar will come off.
I am no longer involved in any cemetery, and don't see it happening ever again. Easiest way to explain is to ask you to read the last couple of paragraphs in my profile.
Hope you're doing well.

|Bonnie T||RE: Sarah Douglas Death Record|
Did I ever reply to this? thought I did but just in case the little voice in my head is correct that says maybe I didn't, here goes....all I have on their marriage is from the Kentucky Marriages at family search, not a certificate, John Douglas and Sarah E Burgan married in Anderson County Kentucky on 27 Jun 1880. John's previous wife Mary died in March 1880 of TB (1880 mortality schedule). Johns son with Mary, Charles, whom Sarah took care of during their marriage and after John's death is listed on the 1880 census as an "idiot"...he never married and never moved out so it must have been pretty severe. One of the other sons was listed as having brain freeze but went on to marry and have kids. John had a brother Grand, who was married to Mary's sister was also living with him in 1880. The sister also died of TB in Oct of previous year. The brother disappears between 80 and 1900...he may have also died of TB or other cause or remarried and moved away as John did. Sorry this is so late.

|Ronda Verot||Carolus Stephensen Waldahl|
My fiance is Jesse Waldahl. We started trying to figure out his Family Tree. Carolous Stephensen Waldahl is Jesse's Great Great Grandfather. His Great Grandfather is Ingebrit Waldahl. His Grandfather is Ingwald Waldahl. Jesse's Father's name was Marvin Norman Waldahl. Marvin was born on July 29, 1949 and passed on March 2, 1997. Jesse has 5 siblings. No one has attempted a Family Tree. I need help with this. Any information you have on the Waldahl family would be greatly appreciated. Marvin's Father, Ingwald, was married to a Dorothy Bernice Davis on August 12, 1946. Her maiden name was Rosendahl. She disappeared. Before Marvin passed he wanted to find out as much info as he could on her. He found nothing.I have searched for days and hours. Nothing.Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated. Thank You in advance.
