Bio and Links
Bio Photo My husband and I enjoy finding monuments for other people and am extremely grateful to the volunteers who have found my own people for me. We've been working on finding the little pioneer cemeteries in the area and putting their inhabitants online. Four of our memorial pages even helped to catch a gravestone thief. Cemeteries are extremely vulnerable to vandalism, theft, and the damage of time and weather. We appreciate all of the volunteers out there who are working so hard to document them before they are lost to history. Lately we're working hard to upload GPS coordinates with the Findagrave App-- WE LOVE IT!

Please note that I adhere to Findagrave policy, whether or not you may agree with it:

◊Find A Grave's primary purpose is a graves registration website.

◊Find A Grave's secondary purpose is a memorialization/remembrance site.

◊Find A Grave's tertiary purpose is a genealogical resource.

If a listing or contribution corresponds with only the primary purpose, it has fulfilled its part of Find A Grave's mission and is not required to correspond with the secondary and tertiary purposes. Fulfilling the other two is welcomed, encouraged and deeply appreciated, but as far as Find A Grave's purpose goes, a memorial page isn't lacking if it does not.

Transfers are only made within the guidelines set up by Find A Grave. These guidelines are in place for a reason - whether one cares to accept them or not. I am not going to debate what the owner has deemed acceptable for his site with members who choose not to agree with the guidelines. "The ultimate goal should be to have meaningful, accurate memorials that honor those who have passed away, regardless of who created the memorial or who maintains it." I am willing to consider transferring ownership to you if you have a close family member among my records. I rarely transfer relationships more distant than first cousin... just having someone "in my family tree" or "a relative" will not elicit a transfer.

If you want information added to a memorial, go to the memorial and use the "Edit" tab to send me the information-- including family links. I will add information to the memorial, I do not transfer just because someone wants to add links or other information. Bottom line: what are you planning on doing with the entry that I haven't already done or am unable to do?

I may not transfer to you if the number of memorials that you manage is significantly greater than the number that you have contributed. Also, I hesitate to transfer memorials to those who do sloppy work, so emails laden with misspellings or other inaccuracies generally are ignored. Bad spelling is a pet peeve of mine.

On the other hand, I will always transfer if a memorial is sponsored. And if you upload family photos or in some other way add value to the memorial, I am much more willing to transfer.

I welcome all corrections to my own work. Some records were imported using OCR so have inevitable errors, both from the original records and from machine interpretation. I am only human and make mistakes, too, but will always make it priority to correct them.

Arzilla Carter Stroud #31469295
Hello, just to clarify the family relationship. Arzilla Carter who married Henry Stroud was born in 1852 and died in 1916. Her mother was Lucinda Jackson Cloyd Carter who was born in 1816 and died in 1895. She married Johannan Carter the 16th of March, 1837. They were the parents of Arzilla Carter Stroud and Jonathan J. Carter who was born 1857 in Oregon and died 1931. His number is #10410889. Arzilla and Jonathan are siblings, and on the memorial for Arzilla it has her father as Jonathan J. Carter who is her brother and not her father. Her father, johannan Carter does not have a memorial on FindAGrave. I cannot remove Jonathan showing as the father for Arzilla since you are the one who is maintaing her memorial. Cannot this be corrected to show the correct relationship? I have Jonathan linked to his mother Lucinda. Thank you.

Jonathan J. Carter 10411560
I had been transferred the sites of Jonathan and his mother, Lucinda Carter. I didn't realize it until now when I looked at their memorials, so I went ahead and wrote up a bio about Lucinda and Jonathan. Jonathan is the youngest child of Lucinda Carter and she has another child, Arzilla Carter Stroud who also has a memorial. The problem is that the person who originated the memorials had listed Jonathan as the spouse of Lucinda. Her spouse was Johannan Carter who may be possibly buried at the Palestine Cemetery in Benton County. I don't know. I was able to attach Jonathan to his mother, however, I cannot remove Arzilla who is his sibling. It shows that she is a child of Jonathan. Is there a way that this can be corrected?
Thank you for your contribution to FindAGrave.

Jacob Myers
I found a grave in Concordia Cemetery of Nancy M. Myers, 1860-1908. On her head stone it reads she is the wife of J.C. Myers. Could this be the wife of the Jacob Clarence Myers you have a memorial listed for as buried in Concordia Cemetery?

May I have your permission to download the photo of the gravestone of W. G. Ramsower (Memorial# 18006545)?
I would like to upload it into my Ancestery family tree.
Thank you for your consideration.

You're welcome. Time has taken its toll on that stone. Plus, I'm a rookie at photography.

You are welcome. Did you also notice that I added the photo of the stone for her son Harold Cecil Smith?
