I am a retired engineer who spent career working in Houston, TX at oil & gas equipment design.|
My early years/schooling were in Files Valley, TX, just east of Itasca in Hill County, TX. There is a cemetery there that my Dad kept records on in spiral notebook. After his death, I realized that the notebook with all his notes on who was buried where was lost. In 2007, I began recording the Files Valley Cemetery with friends living in the area. When we completed that, and uploaded to internet websites, we proceeded to add memorials to many cemeteries in NE Hill County.
Bonnie (Wife) and I have been researching our families - McEver, Robinson, Allen, Pruett, & Jordan.
My interest in genealogy comes from making contact with special distant cousins, Maurice Allen, Vicki Bullard and others. We've created a family tree at ancestry.com website.
A final thought on what FindAGrave means to me. It is an excellent tool for preserving the documentation (memorializing)of those who have gone before us. To this end, it doesn't matter to me who owns photos, copyrights, etc. Feel free to use what I provide to FindAGrave for the purpose stated above. It would be nice to receive recognition.

I have been trying to find my grand-dad's grave in the Itasca Cemetery, but was unsuccessful. The memorial lists his location as Plot I3. Where is the map kept that shows how the plots are laid out? Me and my dad searched for hours and I'm sure we just missed it. We did find my great-grandmother #48816186 and her daughters in the Patterson Plot D2. I seem to have lots of family there that I never knew of. The photos you took are very lovely but I just wanted to see for myself.
Thanks for your work documenting them.

I have found 17 total family members' grave sites that you created and I would like to manage. Is there a method that I could use to request management of them as a block. If not, I can do them individually.
Thank you in advance,

First of all, I would like to thank you so very much for the work that you have done identifying graves in the Luke Tipton Cemetery in Itasca Texas. It was hard work that you did. I am the granddaughter of Bertha Mae Matthews and would like to manage her site along with others in that plot who are related to me. I would like to propose links and include a bit of her history.
She had two husbands and Amos Matthews was her second. Her full legal name is Bertha Mae Shaw Price Matthews. She is also buried surrounded by her children that have passed on also. They are Freddie Mae Price Richardson (I'm managing that one already), James Edward Matthews, Don L Matthews, Melvin W Matthews, Cleamon L Matthews and her daughter in law Juanita Matthews (wife of James Edward Matthews). I'm not sure if you are in charge of those memorials, but I'm doing one at a time and would appreciate your assistance in allowing me to edit the memorials that you control. I have photos and history for my family.
Thank you in advance,
Sadie E Richardson Allen
