Bio and Links
Bio Photo Feel free to use any of my photos in any way that you wish, especially the older ones. My only purpose in posting them is to share them with those who want them and to help preserve them for posterity, just as many of these were gifts which others (long dead, for the most) once shared so generously with me. History is not for hoarding or profit but for preserving and passing on.

Attribution is not expected. With that said, however, the serious researcher/historian records the source for photos and rare documents. So while I don't need to be acknowledged or "thanked," I have tried (not always successfully) to list where most of my photos came from. If I have posted one that came from you, please let me know, or remind me, or suggest proper attribution.

Lastly, all of my memorials are works in progress, so I'm continually tinkering with them, researching, editing or expanding them. Additions, comments, corrections, criticisms and suggestions are welcome and always considered.

Angevine family
Wow...thank you SO much for all of the information you have provided for this family. Louis and Esther Secord Angeline are my 7th Great-Grandparents. I am overwhelmed with all the work you have done on their family. Thank you so very much. This is the first I'd heard of the connection to James Fenimore Cooper's Angevine family.

mari schmidt
Hi Ray
It is Mari Schmidt...I have moved back to S. Lake Tahoe on the Nevada side. It has been a while since we last talked. Thank you for the history included in the find a grave and the pics. I am hoping to get to the cemetery in the near future. I would also like to get into the old Stockton museum records and archieves. Still hoping to find others in my families branch of the Isbell line. I did find my grandmother mary's book, zig zag tales, listed on amazon...Of course they have no copies for sale...Thanks...Mari

Hugh Gentry

Do you have information on other children of Hugh Gentry?

My grandmother's sister married Bert Gentry, son of John W. Gentry. I have been trying to figure out which Gentrys he belongs to.

John W.'s death certificate shows he is the son of Hugh and Ann Gentry, who I have not been able to identify. But Bert, John W. and a Hugh G. (who was married to Mary, not Ann) all show up in the Rusk County, Texas census. I think Hugh G. is a Hugh G. who was in Jackson County, Alabama in 1840 and that he would have been related to this older Hugh Gentry, but I can't find enough to tie it together. Thought someone over that way might know more.

Some of the Isbells came to Rusk County, Texas, and John Birdwell Isbell was pastor of our church in the 1800s.

Thanks. Have blessed day.
