My Father Albert Breshears Jr. Is the youngest child of Albert Winfield Breshears and Anna Ferrell Breshears.
My Mother is Helen Maude Hart (mn) Breshears Cook from Kully Chaha, Le Flore, Oklahoma. She is 91 years old. My parents met in Walla Walla, Washington where my mother was a Veterans hospital nurse. Her sister Caroline Hart, owned a restaurant there, and she knew his best work friend. My father passed in a home he and I shared on June 1, 2000. He very willingly raised his step daughter Jeanne Carol Brown Breshears born September 13, 1945 and passed away November 11, 1964. Our brother Kevin was born 13th of June 1950 in Fresno, Calif., and I was born in Fontana, California in 1952. He passed away in Columbia Falls, Montana on January 27, 1995. . We were raised on our ranch in Colton where we trained and rented horses. After a couple short train stops we ended up in Calimesa- Yucaipa where we finished elementary and High School. My father served as a Stable Master Sergeant the Italian Occupation, Kevin Albert Breshears served in the Vietnam War as a Gunner Truck Driver, and I am Vietnam era status. My folks were dedicated parents, and patriots, and I am proud to be their daughter, and sister. Thank you for a place to honor our families. God Bless my family wherever they may be. And through out whatever they may be living through. May God Bless America. 🇺🇸

Would like to ask permission to use any stories, pictures, etc that you have added to memorials. I am trying to update info on my family tree. It looks like you are related to Breshears. They were married into the family I am from. Ralph Jones who married Edna Warren. looks like maybe one of their kids married a Breshears. Anyway, Hope I can use the info. Thanks

Yes, I understood.
Where else did you visit?
|Dennie Rennow||RE: Mattie Rennow|
Are you referring to Martha Presley who was married to Andrew Jackson Rennow?
|David M. Habben||RE: Felix John Breshears|
You are very welcome.

Although my husband has many Wood county relatives, I don't think he's related to this family. I purchased a book published by the local historical society for the big Oak Grove cemetery and used that to enter my records on Findagrave. A local volunteer has been photographing tombsones at Oak Grove, but think she still has a few more sections to go before she finishes. But I think she gave me the comment that she may be with her first husband but the book said she was in an unmarked grave.

It has been my privilege to talk with someone who is a distant cousin and is interested in the family.

I am sorry to be so late replying. I just found this in a family file. I was born in my Grandmother's house (Ninnie Loe Ellis) and both my Greatgrandmother's were also living there. The one you call Mattie (Martha Presley Loe) lived to be 96, and I was 12 when she died. She was not strong physically, but was very alert and interested in her offspring. I walked into her room and she was talking out loud to her long deceased husband, Grandpa Josh. She said"Don't look at me like that. I know he is dead! But he was the only one who ever listened to me when I talked." They farmed, and she had said that they got up at 4AM in the hot weather. He went out to the barn to milk, and she made biscuits and sausage and eggs and coffee etc.
He would eat, and work outside such as plowing with a mule with two lanterns on either side of the harness to light the way. When the sun got high and hot he went into the barn to work a while, came in and took a nap, and went out when the heat was waning, and came in at dark. They went to bed with the Chickens. Her mother lived with them. Her father was buried in NC next to his first wife, only she wasn't dead yet when he died. I guess his first family of children came to Alabama and took his body back there. See
findagrave in Alabama, Ole Liberty Church of Christ Cemetery for Martha (Mattie) Presley Loe and look at all of the names. Then see Calvary Episcopal Church Cemetery in Fletcher, Henderson County NC. He had moved and lived in Conecuh County, Alabama (Which was also Butler County at some time). I do not know why he had two families, one in NC and one in Alabama. More on Mattie Sophia Presley (Martha)Loe. She is the daughter of Nancy Marina Northcutt Presley and Jonathan Presley. They were married in 1844 in Butler County in Alabama. She was his second wife. Jonathan's parents are Albert Presler(yes I know that is not the way we want to spell it) and Sarah T. Presler (born Skein).Jonathan was born in 1814 and died in 1899 in Conecuh county (the names of the counties changed, not the location). He has a marker in a cemetery there. but is buried in a cemetery in Fletcher, Henderson County North Carolina where his first wife, Jane Elizabeth Roach
Presley is buried. They had two children. Mary Ann Presley Jones, and Josiah Pressley (another spelling for confusion). He and Nancy had a seven children. I hope this helps. Evelyn Ellis McBride.

We knew my great grandmother "Mattie" as Nanny Ma.
She lived until she was 96, and although frail of body she had a clear mind until she fell and broke a hip a few months before she died. I was eleven.
One day i walked into her room where she sat and read most of the day. My Grandmother, her daughter, was busy helping run a family grocery store. She was a busy woman. Nanny Ma was just talking up a storm, and I must have looked a little spooked. She saw me standing close to her and said" Don't look at me like that. I know Josh is dead, but he was the only one who ever listened to me when I talked"
She was superstitious, and named my grandmother
Ninnie because her midwife picked her up and said
"What a cute little pickenninnie" Mattie thought that if she wasn't named the first thing she was called she would die. The family is buried in Ole
Liberty Church of Christ Cemetery in Lamar County, Alabama. Between Fayette and Millport. Her mother is buried there. She was John Presley's second wife, and lived a long time after he died. See find a grave in Alabama. My father is Bryce Ellis and my name is Evelyn.
