I am a volunteer for http://http://www.gengathering.com/|
"A global gathering of researchers and
genealogists that "give and take".
"an all-volunteer web site and mailing list dedicated to providing obituary lookups all over the world."
I retired from the navy in 1991, and then worked a few more years. In 2006 I retired again (my wife says I was to young to retire so I needed hobbies.) I find doing family history work to be an enjoyable hobby.
Feel free to use any photo I have posted. I believe sharing is one of the many nice wonders of this site.
I will galdly transfer any memorials I have created to any direct family member requesting them. Please include what your relation is and please use the edit link to request trasfers.
(NOTE: if I have requested infromation from you I will not transfer memorials till I receive the information.)
If you find an error or have any additional information on any of the memorials I have created please send me the additonal infromation or corrections, again please use the edit feature.
A special THANKS goes out to all of you who have already done so much for this site.

Thank you, Clint. I've done the edits for Adith's parents. I appreciate the offer of a transfer, but that's not necessary. I've been "a hunting" history on all four siblings, as one, Viola Adella Messenger married my great uncle.

Thanks for the transfer. I've updated those records with the information I currently have documented.

Hi Clint. I am the grandson of Mark Alexander Wolfe who is Forrest Wolfe's brother, both sons of James Hunter and Minnie Charlotte (Robinson) Wolfe. I am busy building out our family tree as I can verify information. I was so happy to have finally tracked down these family members who moved away from Tillman County Oklahoma in the 1930s to New Mexico and subsequently to Washington.
Would you be so kind to transfer Forrest and Ruth Wolfe to me? I'd sure appreciate it. Here are the IDs:
Allan Wolfe: 47630155 (contributor ID)
Forrest Hunter Wolfe: 45296617
Ruth W (Dodson) Wolfe: 45296615
Thanks so much.

Thanks but I dont believe I am related to this line. One of my lines is Custer so I was trying to verify they went somewhere else and linked them up since I did the research. You can keep them.

Please check the memorial - and the note I added to the bio. Let me know if this is satisfactory for you. I inherited this memorial, so not sure where the information came from.
Here's where I got the place of birth;

Email me and I will send you a more complete answer and more Leland information. I was also given a number of family pictures. BTW: my 2nd great grandmother was Josephine A (Case) Jackson.
Be sure if your do post information that You give Dale Congdon the credit. We all did some work but Dale's research was through and conclusive. If you are related to the Leland family in any way you owe it to yourself to get the book.

|Jeffry||RE: Sarah Maria Leland Memorial# 27165996|
When I first started doing the family ancestry there were a number of family traditions about who Josephine's father might be. However, the mother is definitely Sarah. The out of wedlock child, Josephine was 'adopted' by Sarah's sister, Eliza Antoinette (Leland) and Henry Case.
There are a number of family letters that can support that.
A descendant Leland relation of mine, Dale R Congdon wrote a book called "A Leland Journey" 1998 (LOC 98-73698) He spent several chapters with convincing evidence that Alexander Wilder is the father. For starters, Josephine's middle name is 'Alwilda.' The book is great reading.

Thanks so much, Clint, for correction John's memorial. I forgot to link him to his Dad, Daniel David Strickland, #23581213. I have just sent that to you and maybe you can to that link as well. Thanks so very much. Larry Draughon
