As part of a team from the Dallas Genealogical Society, I am engaged in transcribing the 25,000 plus burials at Oakland Cemetery in Dallas, Texas. Additionally I have documented the burial locations of the mayors of Dallas, superintendents and board presidents of the Dallas schools. I have recorded the burial locations of my family members in Texas, Tennessee, Arkansas, Mississippi, Georgia and North Carolina. Recently added memorials and photos for two cemeteries in small towns in Calabria Region, Italy.|

How do we know which soldiers are buried in the Confederate Cemetery?
My Great Grandfather George W Davison name is on the monument in the Confederate Cemetery, he is buried in Rylie Cemetery between his wife Martha (Mattie) and son Sol Davison.
He has two memorials 122758963 and 137791364

I was wondering if you are related to the Gist family? I would love to compare notes.

I appreciate very much your transferring my gg-grandmother, Cordelia Alexander's page to me, and your work creating it and so many others as well.

Mary was my GG Grandmother I am still looking for records on her. L.S Goddard Was Logan S Goodard, J.M. Goddard was James M Goddard. They was children by her first marriage to Francis M Goddard. She later married my GG Grandfather William Stokley Roysdon. I was told her maiden name was spelled Koontz from a member of the Koontz family but it has been spelled Koons. Still researching Birth records.

I can't think you enough for adding the two newspaper articles on the Memorials of George E. Draughon, and his wife Hamletta Field. I would never have known that information. I had thought for sure that Hamletta had died in Los Angeles. What a great discovery. Thank you for all that you do for others. Larry Draughon

Thank you for the transfers. I appreciate it. I too have been meeting the photo requests at Oakland. I try to go 2-3 times a week. I also love and appreciated the DGS website. It has been very useful in finding the burials of the people who's photo requests are on the list. If I can ever be of help, please email me. Thanks again, your friend, Virginia Paredes Tijerina.
