I am a retired veteran and genealogist. I work on Fort Knox so I have opportunities to visit some cemeteries on post and in Hardin County, KY.

|Susan Bauer||RE: Sieboldt's|
Thank you for the info. I know August died in the farm house In 1915 so perhaps the farm was sold at that time. My grandfather and his sisters hated working on the farm. It was a hard life. August was very demanding, probably out of necessity. I do not think the family would have continued with the farm. I suppose it is also possible that August rented the farm and did not own it. As a side note--when the Sieboldts arrived in America August worked in Louisville making whiskey barrels. Ironically my maternal grandfather was born in Louisville. He came to New Mexico with his wife who later died of TB. He then married my grandmother. My father was stationed in NM at the end of WWII and met my mother. So I am the product of war and disease.

Re my name request for Lyda Marie Huber Humphrey,
Her full name is as shown above. I suppose she did not use the name Lyda. The "H" shown as middle initial represents her maiden name "Huber."
If you prefer to leave the name as is, perhaps you could add a notation in the bio section that her full name is "Lyda Marie Huber Humphrey."
If you choose to do that, you can just reject my request to get it off the books.

Thank you so much! I was not positive Uncle Earl was there, that's what we were told. Was there any other Meyer buried next or near him?

Thank you for adding to this family.
Are you related?
|Penne Magnusson Cartright Hannum||Whitworths|
Thank you for that information. I have transferred the 3 Whitworth's over to the Ruben Jones cemetery. I went through the list of who is still in Fort Knox to see if I had any more, and I did not. Thank you!
