I am just starting findagrave. I think this is a wonderful site. I will go take pictures in the Washtenaw and Wayne County area. I enjoy helping. If i have a memorial you want just ask and I will transfer it to you.|

|Yvonne||John R. Ives, Jr. ~ Memorial # 34712394|
I believe this John R. Ives, Jr. is a son of the John Ives, Sr. (b. abt 1890 in Alabama), who was a son of Samuel Spencer Ives and his 2nd wife, Mary "Lou" (Kennedy) Ives. Samuel S. was a well-recorded Confederate officer in the Civil War, and a brother of my ancestor, Amos Quincy Ives, Jr. If I have John Jr. with the right family, he is age 1 on the 1920 Census with his parents John & Eloise, in the home of widowed grandmother Lou Ives, at Lauderdale Co, Alabama. Then in 1930, he (age 11) & brother Thomas K. Ives(age 9)are with their mother Eloise & stepfather Wm. J. Priester, at St. Augustine, Florida. I believe this information to be accurate & hope it will help in someone's research.
