I am not a Meltabarger relation. I probably connected with Archibald when I was doing research on the lst, 2nd, 3rd and 6th Tennessee Infantries. I have connections with James Graves of the 6th (Boston Graves descendent) and Nicholas Gibbs (and brothers) from the Corryton/Knoxville/Union Co. area. Nice to hear from you. N
Thank you for sharing all these wonderful pictures! Henry Augustus Gaines was my Papa's grandfather. So some of the pictures I recognized but I enjoyed many that I haven't seen before.

This is the only marker with the name Richard Gaines on it. At the base is a field stone with the ltters "RG" carved on it, but it is small and facing very close to this stone. If you can tell me where the Gaines cemetery is located maybe I can get that photo too.

|Barry E. Smith||Gaines Memorials in Hughes Cemetery|
I transferred all of the Gaines memorials in the Hughes Cemetery in Cherokee County. I intended to do it when you sent me the correction for Henry but it slipped my mind. Good luck looking for more Gaines.

My son and I enjoyed ourselves that day so it was no problem. The other Gaines Photo's I took because I thought you might be related to them. I am not so I don't need to know anything about them. I was hoping to help you by taking them.

I transfered the John Gaines memorial to you. Thanks for your hard work in preserving the history of your family.

Since I had so much trouble finding these graves I had the office people take me to the graves. The names and dates are worn off but I took them anyway along with the other Gaines Tombstones in that section. Sorry that there are no names on them.

|D. Bagwell||John Gaines|
Thank you for the additional information on John Gaines. I have just added it to his page. If this is a direct relative of yours then I would be glad to transfer ownership to you. Just let me know if you would like me to do that. Happy holidays!

Thank you for the directions to the cemetery. How in the world did you find it?? Do you still need me to go take the pic or did you already get it?
