Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am of Russian descent and have primarily focused my interest on the Russian Molokans. They settled on Potrero Hill in San Francisco and many are buried at the Russian Sectarian Cemetery in Colma, CA; I have also located many at Olivet Memorial Park and Vacaville, CA.

There is a Russian Molokan message board ( where I have made posts of news articles, obituaries, historical information and much more.

I am a native of San Francisco, CA.

I've always liked cemeteries and hope I can help other people locate their ancestors graves. I love doing research and would be willing to help anyone with information or pictures.

I don't consider snapshots I take of a grave or a family photo I upload to be copyrighted or owned by me. I understand the importance of wanting a copy of a grave to attach to someone in your family tree. If it's been uploaded by me, I've done it to share with others. I don't mind someone copying the photos and I also have no problem emailing any pictures or documents I have that someone would like.

If I go to a cemetery, I try to take pictures of as many graves as possible and upload pictures to existing memorials or set up memorials if there isn't one, in hopes of it helping a family member locate them. I'm happy to do any updates that you want and don't hesitate to ask for transfers. Just use the Suggest a Correction link on the desired memorial. If they mean something to you, then you are probably better able to give them the best memorial possible.

RE: Pivovaroff
Hi Nancy,

According to information given to me by Bill Alducushion (also a Pivovaroff descendant), Pyotr Patapoff is the 2nd husband of Julia Pivovaroff, daughter of Vasily (William) Makarich Pivovaroff. Julia and Pyotr Patapoff had 2 children: Paul Peter Patapoff and Katsya Peter Patapoff.

Vasily (William) Pivovaroff is my great great grandfather. His son, Moses (Morris) Pivovaroff, is my great grandfather. Moses's 2nd daughter, Ruth Pivovaroff Butchrie, is my grandmother.

How are you related to the Pivovaroffs?

I was told that Moses (Morris) Pivovaroff, my great grandfather, converted to the Subbotniki religion, which has died out. Before that, my ancestors were Molokans. My mother attended the Russian Baptist Church on Potrero Hill (San Francisco) as a child.

Bill Aldacushion created this website on the Home of Peace Cemetery where many Pivovaroffs and related families are buried:

I deleted the 2nd photo of my grandmother Ruth Pivovaroff Butchrie on Find A Grave. I had meant to do that but must have forgotten.

I have some unidentified photos of some possible Pivovaroff relatives. Would you be able to identify them if I emailed them to you? Do you live in the San Francisco Bay Area?

Best wishes,

Wendy H. King

Thank you
Hi Nancy -

Yes, you may transfer Nancy Kotoff; she is my sister.

My grandfather may be listed under Alex Zahar Kotoff. If you're are currently managing that one, transfer it over.

Long time no talk...all is well here. I DID just find a new distant Kotoff cousin, so I'm back at sleuthing again.
