I retired as an elementary school principal in 2000. As a person that sleeps only 4 hours a night that leaves 20 hours to fill. Sitting home is not an option. Now, I drive a school bus 5 hours a day and visit cemeteries every chance I get. I have never been to a cemetery that charged admission and seldom is there a crowd. My wife, Sandra, is of a like mind so it works well. We both enjoy the hunt and the thrill that comes with each discovery. Let us know if we can help. If you have additional information on one of my post or you are a relative and want ownership, I will gladly transfer it to you. Just ask. Oh! By the way just call me Doc!|
NOTE: Many times the family plot has names different from those on the headstone. I always attempt to provide a reference point for markers. Hope this is not confusing.
Two quotes worth remembering:
"Tread softly, dreams are buried here." Unknown
"If you wonder about your 'roots' you have two parents, four grandparents eight great-grandparents and 16 great-great-grandparents, and by the time you go back 10 generations 300 years or so- you had 1,024 people from whom you are directly descended. --Mady Castro

Hi, Do you by chance remember where you took his grave photo? His memorial is listed as burial unknown and I would like to get this fixed. Thank you.

P. S. Please forgive my delay in sending this acknowledgement!
Do you know where his children are buried? I am struggling to find anything. Thanks for your work.
|J. L. Fraley||Lots of corrections; typos or not?|
Just submitted changes to the surnames of those graves in Indian Creek Primitive Baptist Cemetery
North Carolina, USA
That had the name FRALEY and the photo obviously is of the surname FARLEY.
Hoping it's a typo, or was there some branch of Fraley's that accidently was referred to as "Farley" in that particular location? That would be interesting...

John's obit information from the funeral home stated E.J and Hessie Baker as his parents. I saw the dates on Hessie, and thought it might have been engraver error on dates. But her DC states she was 38 when she died in 1932,, so her dates are correct. I have tried to locate obits on both of his parents and have only been able to locate E.J., which I sent you a portion of it. This is his correct father, for the siblings match up to those listed in his obit.
I will make note on his memorial that Hessie's DOD does not match up to his birth and remove her link as well.

Richard thank you for transfering my cousin Paul Franklin Talbert. Thanks Carol
|CathyC||Theodora Dibble Smith|
I did an edit with name correction. Then realized I might be on the wrong memorial. The picture of the tombstone do not match the dates of Theodora. You might want to take a look at her memorial #33358305

Doc: Thanks very much for posting Elizabeth's biopage; because of your effort & Tammnie's posting of her daughter's biopage, I was able to "connect the dots" and have now linked them to John Abel Yoder, her CSA Patriot husband, KIA in Battle of Spotsylvania Court House.
Please go to Elizabeth's biopage for the link.
Please read my biopage and see why I am thrilled to have been able to connect these Southern family members.
I'd be indebted should you share any Yoder family info, esp., photos.
I know that a son of John & Elizabeth, Robert, died of thyhoid pneumonia over here in Orange County, Virginia. I am trying to figure out exactly where he was buried, living 45 minutes away.
I'll share with you any progress.
I am yours truly,
