I am still active now and then. I can make changes or transfer. Doesn't matter to me.

Yes, that is fine. In fact I would prefer it that way.

Hi Jane,
Thanks again for the work you are doing. I do want to see the pictures of Zion that you are posting. The picture of Kizia's grave didn't show up when I tried to see it a little while ago. So I'll look again when the other pictures are posted. Yes, Kizia was Preacher-John's mother. He and my grandfather, Joseph, were brothers. I'm from Huntsville, AL. My daddy was from Brownsville so I've been there many times. We made regular trips to see my grandparents and my aunt and uncle when I was a child. So I'm very familiar with where Zion is located. My aunt and uncle were Guy and Vera Harrell, and I had two first cousins, Jimmie Joe and Billy Frank Morris. Billy Frank actually lived in Stanton. Their children are James Robert, Karen, Lee Ann sp?, and William, called Bubba. I'm actually much nearer the childrens' age than I am their parents. My first cousins were actually old enough to be my parents. I don't know if you know any of these people or not. My family are all buried at Chestnut Grove. I don't know the reason for that because they were all members of Zion Church. My daddy left Brownsville to go to college in Birmingham. That's how we ended up in Alabama.

Thanks again for all the information. No, I haven't seen the picture of Kizia's grave stone, but I'll look. Wm T and Kizia were my great grandparents, and I know they had a son named John who was a preacher--well of sorts. He had some character flaws which is probably why he is buried there with them instead of with his wife. So I'm almost 100% sure that would have to be their son, John, since he is buried there with them. I believe Wm T's father was Albert Thomas Morris, but that can't be proven, and I have no idea where he is buried. I don't know his mother's name either. A lady named Reese Moses, now deceased, was a top-knotch genealogist who did extesive research on our family line. And she seemed to have hit a brick wall after Wm T., but she believed Albert Thomas was his father. Did you know Reese, and are you related to us?

RE: Graves of Wm T Morris & Theodosia Jacocks
I'm sorry but I checked through all the information I have for my Morris line, and I couldn't find any dates for Rev. John H Morris. But being buried next to Wm T I feel sure that he is Wm T's son and brother to my grandfather who is buried in Chestnut Grove Cemetery. I did confirm that he married Eva Timberlake and they had four children, but that probably isn't any information that you would need. From the way they look, I think those markers must have been placed there many years after these people died. Also I wonder if Wm T's first wife, Kizia L Morris, may be buried in that cemetery in an unmarked grave. There is a record of her death in the church minutes of Zion Baptist Church in 1883.

Could you tell me a little more about the Rev. Morris buried next to Wm T? I know you said there were no dates, but is there a first name?
My grandfather had a brother who was a preacher. His name was John. I never knew him. He died before I was born. I don't know if this could be the same person or not.

Graves of Wm T Morris & Theodosia Jacocks
Thank you very much for the photos of these two graves. Wm T Morris was my great grandfather and Theodosia Jacocks was his double first cousin. I had seen both graves as a child. I visited Zion Cemetery again in May of 2012 and was unable to locate either of these graves, yet I knew they were there. Thanks again.
