I live in central Florida in Brandon (just east of Tampa). I started doing genealogy just out of curiosity about 15 years ago. My mother gave me a genealogy project that my great aunts had started years earlier (before computers) and my hobby began. I am married and have 3 grown children and 4 grandchildren. Genealogy is my passion and I wish I had more time to spend doing it. I also enjoy helping others, hence my submissions to "find a grave". I like to walk cemeteries and photograph the stones. I have even drafted my husband into helping me, but I love the "alone" time. I know that when I run across something new that has been beyond my reach I am so excited. I hope by submitting headstones that I am able to help someone else find that little something they haven't been able to achieve. You may email me privately at if you prefer. Any photos I take are open for public use. You do not need to ask my permission. Happy hunting.

Griffin Graves Tampa FL
Dear Donna.
Thank you for posting the photographs of the Griffin's from Tampa FL in the Myrtle Hill Memorial Park. I was able to use the information in a genealogy research paper for a class at Boston College. The son and mother were from Manatee, Manatee Co, Florida. He was a seminary student who wrote letters to his mother from a college in Macon, GA. These letters were found in the Manatee County Historical Records Library. His mother was Mary Jane Gates, the first (white)baby born in Manatee County Florida (after it was formed). Her father was Josiah Gates.

There are the maximum number of photos allow for this memorial. However, four of them are of the grave, which leave no room for one more picture. Could you remove at least two of the picture so I can add a veterans photo.
It would be greatly appreciated. He is my cousin. His wife is at the point of death and I want his memorial to be correct.

although I am a Knowles, I cannot find a link to his side to be my relative! So, no need to transfer, just sharing info I found while trying to see if we were related. You are very kind to offer!
