Andy Shaner
George Gangwer
Good evening, Ms. Versluis-Butcher. My name is Andy Shaner and my 4th great grandfather Henry Shaner (Heinrich Schöner) served in the Revolutionary War with your ancestor, George Gangwer, in the third PA line regiment. I was looking back through Henry's widow's pension docs this afternoon and I came across George's name; he was a witness for Henry's widow, supporting the claim that Henry served during the war.

Reading through George's pension docs, I think it would be safe to assume that he and Henry likely knew each other quite well before they enlisted. It looks as though they enlisted at about the same time.

I realize I may be drawing some conclusions without really hard evidence, but there is a lot of circumstantial evidence to support their knowing each other.

Anyhow, I really just wanted to say hi.

Best regards,
Andy

Fantastic, Sharon! I would LOVE to have that information. Please email to me at sandi@sandipaulusdesign.com. Also, just FYI, there is some very interesting info at the Centerville Historical Society about Aaron Nutt, a cousin of Adam's who founded Centerville, OH.

Hi, Sharon,
I've been looking back over all my notes about Adam Nutt's family. I descend from his daughter Permelia. It seems that I gleaned Sarah's name from Ancestry trees. One researcher I noted, who shows Sarah as his child, says Adam had 13 children and that the family is well-documented, but I've not found the sources he used. I would imagine that Quaker records would be the best original source for this. I will keep searching and will report back if I find anything.
