Sepulchrum: Graves, tombs, sepulchers.
We started out just two guys who have an interest in genealogy and old things.
One of us (Eric) has relatives at Multnomah Park, the other (David) is repaying a debt to genealogists who supplied him with a huge amount of information from Sweden.
We have listed most of the graves in this large public cemetery, which contains over 12,000 residents. We have not, and probably will not, list the most recent burials in the cemetery because of privacy concerns. The 'death' dates for people may be their burial dates. We are working off Metro's data base which gives the burial date of the deceased up until the 1970's.
The data base supplied to us by Metro, the current managing agency for Multnomah Park, has a lot amount of unknowns, and that's where the X's come in. IF you see an "X" in the plot information it means it is unknown in the data base that we have nearly finished transcribing and entering for all people to see and use. Note that Metro inherited the records from another agency who inherited them from a previous owner, who in turn inherited them from previous owners.
Check out Metro's webpage for Multnomah Park Cemetery: http://www.oregonmetro.gov/index.cfm/go/by.web/id=12692
If you have any information on any of the residents of Multnomah Park, please use the new correction on FindAGrave to let us know. It is much quicker and easier for us - and will get done sooner than the 'old' way.
Please make sure you have the right person, not just a person with the same name.
We have added some people to the Multnomah Park Cemetery online FAG database even though they do not appear in the online Metro Pioneer cemeteries database. We have done so because their death certificate and/or Oregonian funeral notice indicates they were buried there. The burial location will be noted as: "unknown - does not appear in cemetery records." These people may be buried elsewhere. We don't know, and the death certificate information is not always reliable.
We are making periodic trips to the state archives in Salem to make copies of Death Certificates. We do update information with data from the various death certificates - when we have the time. We have, but generally do not post the certificates on FAG. If you would like one please inquire. Driving an hour to Salem to copy documents in the state archives is beyond what is a normal volunteer activity - especially with the price of gas.
Thank you, David and Eric.

I first want to say thank you. I was so happy to find and see a memorial for my uncle, Thomas Henry Blencoe # 47369798. I have his parents and siblings and would love to add him to my memorials. Would you please consider in making a transfer to me?
Thank you Debbie Blencoe-Lund

Thank you very much for the picture of my birth mothers last husband.I was hoping she may have been buried beside him. She has been an extreme challenge to locate her final resting place. I really appreciate your work finding memorials! Thanks again and may God bless You.

Dear Eric & David,
Sorry, but I forgot that those photos are on my other cell phone that I had to use temporarily while waiting for my "new" cell phone to be fixed (needed a new charger). I'm hoping to hire my friend's son to take the "old" phone to Verizon to get all pictures downloaded so I can keep them. Will try to get IOOF pictures, such as they are, sent to you at that time. So much for progress in the computer age.

Thanks so much for your good wishes. I was discharged on March 23rd so have been home just over a month, now, return to see my surgeon to see if I'm healed enough for a walking cast instead of a "non wgt. bearing" cast (have had five so far). He cuts the cast off, takes x-rays to see how well I'm healing, then puts on another cast. It's been 7 wks. since my surgery so am hoping for a walking cast this time around (for 4 wks.), then a support boot for @ a month. I'll never look at people in wheelchairs the same way again; so many things I take for granted are so difficult for people on wheelchairs. I'll be setting off metal detectors for the rest of my life. I'm going to try to send copies of the photos I took (from a chair) of the exhibits at the care center. Want to go back once I'm mobile again to retake the pictures. Take care and Thanks for everything you guys do.

On Aug 1, 2012, you sent me information to update for Thor Skogset. During 2012 - 13, I was ill on and off. I put requests in a file, "Findagrave Not Done," for those I couldn't get to at any given time. I found this file today. I do apologize for taking years to complete such an easy task.

Thank you so much for the photo of Nathan E Ray. Also WOW, how quick was that!
