I joined Find-a-Grave in 2001 after finding the burial place of one of my great grandfather's brothers who tragically drowned at age 3. I was saddened the grave had no memorial marker - so when I found Find-a-Grave I was glad there was a way I could preserve his memory, full name as well as dates/places of birth/death and his tragically brief life story. I forgot about the site for many years, but by chance finding a relatives marker in the last year on here, was delighted how much this site has flourished and grown in the last couple years so I gladly jumped into the action.|
I have been an active genealogist over 20 years. I have aspired to become a certified genealogist for many years, although work and life keeps it a back-burner priority. I do however live and breath genealogy with never a day passing by I'm not doing something to preserve my heritage and of my adopted and step lineages. I also gladly help friends and acquaintances piece together their roots as I believe it is an essential in everyones lives.
I have a deep passion for history and genealogy. There is a kindred union between those who work together in preserving the memory of those who's lives were lived - nobody should be forgotten and everyone's life is a story worth telling!

See if your family records holds a first wife for him.
Hello, I saw your photo request for Emma Grove located at Old Fairview Cemetery in Tipton, IN which happens to be only about 6 blocks from my home. I only recently became involved in submitting photos for the memorials, & this one caught my eye. Just a baby...those break my heart. I have gotten my (soon to be 13 year old daughter) into going along and helping search for the names on stones and I believe this stone/memorial is going to be our big goal for today. I am going to take along something to attempt to get this stone as clean as I can possibly get it, and by the end of the day hopefully we'll have a better photo posted for you. I will message you when we have it to post.

He may be the grandfather of my ancestor Ira Polley. Did he die in the Civil War at age 72??

Hello, Checking to see if you have found the family of this individual? I'm with a group of volunteers who are seeking out family to give these individuals' unclaimed cremains the dignity of a final resting place with family and/or friends. Please let me know if I can be of assistance to you since you manage this memorial. Sincerely, Janet Johanson

Date of Interment: 09/05/1904, I suggested an edit so he died in 1904.
did you try www.seekingmichigan.org to search Death certificates? they have them online from 1897-1920?
You can always email the cemetery and ask them what information they have for him in their files. I have gotten info for my own family/ancestors and been able to find funeral homes used and Churches that were used for services to try to do further research.
Hope this helps you.

I just started on this site and will be going to De Leon this weekend and take pics if someone else hasn't by then. Debbie 254-485-2325... Stephenville tx. This is so rewarding, even though I tripped and fell my first time out.

I just posted a photo per your request for Sarah J Breed. I had two problems yesterday at the cemetery. One was that there are two Sarah Breeds buried in West Ridgeway Cemetery - I thought I had the one you had requested, and then found the second one, which was the one you wanted. I took more photos when I realized I had the wrong person initially, but it turned out that I also was having some issues with my camera, which I didn't know about until I downloaded the photos and started going through them. Very unfortunately, Sarah's husband was one of the photos that didn't come out. However, he is buried next to her. He has a memorial posted. I doubt I will be able to get back to this cemetery for a while. You might want to request a photo of his marker, and maybe someone else will be able to fill it before I can.
