Bio Photo My mother, Corine Carter began researching our family in the 1950's (Canoga Park) and I began helping her in 1973.

I am so very thankful for all of you who take photos and share them with everyone! Photos validate research and give it visual reality.I believe in sharing all photos, so feel free to use them.

This photo was taken steps from where we live at Sunset Beach, Oahu.

James Truman Herron
Hi I am James Truman Herron Sr.'s great granddaughter. I'm trying to find out more info on his parents, but as far as I've gotten is finding out they were born in Alabama and his mother's name is mary ann cook. I also found out from his son and daughter Clarence herron and Sally herron that James' father was murdered when he was about 2. He was carrying payroll when his horse ran back home late at night and mary had the boys go find him. They found his body. I can't figure out anything else on him, mary, or any other children other than babe. It'd be wonderful if you happen to know anything at all about them. :)

Alfred Robert

Alfred Robert Jr is interred at the same gravesite, but the name on findagrave is listed as Roberts. I requested an edit. He does have a headstone, while Robert Sr. does not have a headstone.

LA gov't vital records index
The full name for Emma Robert is on the LA gov't vital records index

It sometimes shows full names whereas does not, also it has some years Ancestry does not.

Is Emma's maiden name Murphy?
Hi Nan,
I am still checking this out. I just rechecked on Greenwood index, the link at the front of the Greenwood Cem. web page on Find A Grave It shows the following:

All located at 37 Palmetto Metairie Venus
Emma Rosina Fones 75 10/11/1977
Frances Bendix 56 03/16/1974
Frances Bendix 03/21/1974
Ernest L. Fones 66 12/19/1954
Emma C. Robert 65 07/17/1951

There could also be earlier burials not listed in this index and of course errors. I really want to insure we figure this out. Is Emma's maiden name Murphy? Is that the maiden name you have?

RE: Robert markers

You are very welcome. I am always glad to help. I have finished uploading the remander of your requests for Greenwood.

I envy you being in Hawaii. I was stationed on Midway Island a few years ago, and got to visit Oahu on several occasions.

Yep, I owe you lots! Just this afternoon alone, you've missed out on at least 30 S.A.C.s (Taylor Cemetery) that I linked without your assistance! I can go to town with these things now! The other contributors should thank you, too.
