Madora Dyer Janes (1864 - 1938)
Hi Bonnie,

The research continues. I would like to update the information for Madora Dyer Janes. Dora's marriage record to Loren Huber recorded her surname as "Crane." I have found that "Crane" is incorrect. The correct name was "Cain." Wisconsin marriage records show that Dora DYER, age 22, married Charles R Cain on the 2nd of January, 1875 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The marriage ended in divorce before 1880, when Charles Cain was recorded in the household of his parents, "divorced." Charles Cain's parents are named in the marriage record and Dora's father, Lyman Dyer, was also named.

Maggie Davenport
Hi Bonnie,
I have a question about the memorial you posted for Maggie Davenport (# 32519178) at Tuttle Cemetery, Ionia (Ionia) MI. The wording for her memorial says she was born a Noble. I have this in my notes, too, but I would really like to know how you found that she was adopted by Charles Quigley. Your notes say her marriage license says Charles is her stepfather. Do you happen to have a copy of that? I know it is true, but haven't been able to find any proof. The copy of her marriage record I have from familysearch.org just shows Charles as the father, but I didn't see where it listed him as the stepfather.

Thanks very much.

Are you related to this person? I will delete my memorial since it is a duplicate and you have more information, but if you are related, be aware that there were other Strongs buried nearby in that cemetery whose information I didn't copy down. You might want to contact the cemetery for more info if you are related.

RE: Madora
Hi Bonnie

I have six spouses for Jennie Madora "Dora" Dyer. Five of them you have, but there's at least one more.

When Dora married Loren Huber her name was "Dora Crane" mn [maiden name] Udora Dyer.

I can find no record of Dora's marriage to Crane, but I don't doubt the original marriage record for Dora and Loren.

The marriage would have taken place between 1870 (when Dora and William Lee were recorded in the 1870 census) and 1876 (when Dora married Loren Huber).

Dora divorced Milton H Moore on 19 Nov 1898 for 'cruelty.'
