Bio Photo Updated June 2013
My husband's name is Larry and we have two children and three grandsons.
..Larry is very good at stopping at cemeteries as we travel across the country and he's even good at looking for gravestones!
..I've been at this family tree business for 40+ years and I have enjoyed every minute of it. During this time I've discovered some of my greats weren't so great and my family tree is full of rotten limbs!
..In December 2012 an email buddy of mine that I met via the Internet while filling photo requests for Find A Grave passed away. I miss his daily emails and his friendship!
..I requested Find A Grave transfer all his memorials to me to maintain. It took several months to get this accomplished but they did transfer them to me in June 2013
..I hope I can maintain his memorials the way he would have!
..I know how exasperating it can be to request changes, additions or transfers and get no responses......then finally give up and contact Find A Grave to complete the requests.
..As you can tell from the numbers, I have taken many more photos than were requested. I photographed all of a small cemetery that wasn't even listed with Find A Grave. But it is now... and those people aren't lost.
..I will gladly transfer memorials if they are not related to me....might even transfer some of those greats that aren't so great! HA!
..Thank you and keep up the good work!!!

..I also list my Kansas Photographs on kansasgravestones.org.
http://kansasgravestones.org

Our goal is to photograph every headstone in every cemetery in all the counties of Kansas. Please check out our project, and feel free to ask me questions.

RE: Charles Scobey/Hatch Cemetery
Thanks Evelyn
We would have never found him because our records didn't give where he was buried and I couldn't find him on the net. Looks like he died before the 1880 census but I did find one of his brothers and his family don't even know who his parents are because not everybody goes by their given name. Thank you again for creating his memorial
Thanks
Kenny

RE: Scobeys
Hi Evelyn
Thanks for all your work on find a grave. Yes I am new I have a lot to learn and if I ever get to the library I could really go to town suggestions welcome. Most of my work is from family records that we've had for a very long time. Charles Scobey is my great great uncle. They lived 4 miles south of Bronson, Ks. They did make it in the Bronson pilot newspaper.
His parents is Wilburn and Amanda ( Dyer ) Scobey. Buried in Sapulpa, Oklahoma no memorials yet. Oh on the transfer I'll leave it up to you. Most of the memorials I have is because the creator is no longer a member of find a grave so when I did edits they just gave them to me. Charles Scobey is James Scobey's bother my great great grandfather buried in Mound Valley, Ks.
Thanks again Evelyn

RE: Elva C. Schubert Joyce
Her birth and death info is on the CA death index and I have Clifford's obit. They had the daughter and two sons, Harvey and Robert. Robert stayed in KS and is buried in Chanute.
Are you related to the Wards? The Wards are my husbands side.

To your question on Dorothy Lee Roof Ralston, her parents were Erasmus and Mary Jane Murray Roof, her sister Mary F Roof married William R Ward and they are my husbands great grandparents.

Dear Evelyn, Thanks for the transfer of Harvey's site and the offer to transfer others. I would love to work on the bio of Harvey's wife, Flora Belle (McCoy) Westerfield (Find A Grave # 32583650) if you don't mind transferring her. She was the daughter of Daniel McCoy, who also served in the 86th Illinois. Thanks again for all you are doing and Thanks again for the transfer. Sincerely, Baxter (Find A Grave # 47203738)

Re: Jacob Ard
I agree; there is more to a person's life and enjoy seeing people taking advantage sharing some of the bits of a life on the memorials within FindAGrave. :)

Re: Jacob Ard
I am related to him and his wife, Caroline Kent, via the marriage of their son, Walter, to a 5th cousin from my father's side. I happened to be researching the Jacob Ard family today and came across the memorial page created for him so thought I would share the names of the children that were likely featured in the photograph.
