Robert Canton
Bill, you requested a photo of Robert Canton's grave stone. There's a website with all the names of the people buried in the Dale Cemetery but there's no Robert. There is an infant Canton in the cemetery. Here's the website:

Israel was a coal miner and worked at charcoal iron furnaces for most of his life, as did his father, grandfather and great-grandfathers and some of his sons. They were a family of coal miners beginning with Israel Peterson (1752-?) who was at Pine Grove Furnace in Cumberland Co., Pennsylvania and then Isabella Furnace in the Shenandoah Valley, Virginia.

Adolph Mueller/Miller
I did not see a headstone for Adolph but, after checking out the plot map I am puzzled. I will do another check this weekend. Thanks for letting me know of the problem.

Douglas Foot photo request
Hi Bill,

The records show two Douglas Foot listed and buried next to each other. There was only one marker. That marker is on one of the memorials. I am going to add a photo of the area where they are buried.

If I get a chance, I will look on film to see if the cemetery records could give me more information on then.

Sorry I couldn't help you more,

Becky

RE: Daniel W Hawkins
Thanks for the Civil War info. Interesting that my own ggrandfather Erial Stevens, also from Milford Twp, Knox Co, served for 4 yrs in Civil War but in Co C, 32nd Ohio. You'd think that being from same small farm community, both he and Daniel Hawkins would be in same company.
